Personal and professional relationships get more intense on Earth and aboard the Antares. In the meantime, the Antares' crew undergoes cellular and psychological transformations which is caused by the unseen power behind the mission.

If you live in the USA, the third episode is on tonight at 10 Eastern on ABC.

Or any time on demand! It's on Hulu too. :)

Looks good. Sadly I don't think the ratings will hold to give it a S2. but I'm definitely enjoying it. Less crying baby is also a bonus too!

Checked it out. Sort of reminded me of Ron Moore's Virtuality. Of DG, I think the characters are pretty well defined, but the pace was a little slow. It's got a kind of slow build thing going on, reminiscent of the ABC series Invasion, and I wasn't a fan of that slow pacing-in fact I thought it was one of the things that killed that show, I hope that isn't the case with DG. I also hope the payoff at the end is worth the slow pace.

The dramatic tension between the characters in this episode was subtle, but I would've liked it to be a little more in your face, something to grab you and keep you watching.

I'll give it another go though. I think the set up is interesting enough, though I wasn't quite sure where they were going or what exactly their mission was. Even though I missed the first show I wished they had repeated their mission through exposition or something to get latecomers like me up to speed.

Voyage To The Planets meets Melrose Place. There's an amazing lack of professionalism among the crew. How did a potential rapist like Steven make the cut? Shouldn't the best and the brightest be sent into space? Now there's an idea for a show.

On the off chance that this does get another season, when would it be likely to air? January, I'm assuming?

I liked this episode. This could turn out to be an interesting show.

ABC didn't order this series into production, but bought a finished product. It is also being aired on various international networks. If it does well internationally, it may not matter what the ratings are on ABC, it may get it's second season and end up somewhere else.

They would need to film the 13 episodes, so I say maybe May 2010.

I dunno, didn't really grab me. Was kind of boring honestly. I really hate slow build up 1 hour shows that flit around back and forth between the past and present. Its like its trying to be a sci-fi version of LOST and Invasion and failing in all ways. I like SOME of the characters and the HALO patch thing is a kinda funny element, but my gosh current NASA astronauts don't go fuckin' in space or act this unprofessional.

How much you want to bet we'd see a Zero-G sex scene in the next episode?

You missed last week, didn't you?

ETA: Oh yeah, forgot to add that I really liked the two references to Vancouver: Paula's fifth-graders in Burnaby, and the buses that are apparently still running forty years from now.

The mission seems to be to explore the solar system with the first stop being Venus for some reason (I guess because that's what Beta wants).

IIRC, the crew was essentially chosen by Beta.

Yeah, they started out good but after just four days in space everyone is going nuts?

How did a potential rapist like Steven make the cut?
Potential rapist?! Were'd you get that from?

Yeah I didn't get the rapist vibe.

That Paula chick's voice is getting really annoying, really fast. I like her, I think she's a hottie. But when they have everybody in full piece suits I think she should bite the dust. On top of that freaking annoying talking to fifth graders segment. Boring!!!!

Anybody else think that this show could go down in television as one of the worst decisions to film. You have sci-fi which puts off the chick crowds. You have it being labeled as "Grey's Anatomy" which puts off the geek crowds. All that you are left with is a 1.1/3 ratings. don't know what that means but it sounds bad.

I wonder how it got on at all. Think about it. When was the last major network space series that lasted more than half-a-season?

Pretty sure it was ... BUCK ROGERS.

That's further back than most posters here probably go in terms of lifespan.

Space scifi don't fly on network. Never gets the numbers, never gets the time to build up the numbers either. Everything that has managed to creep along or succeed has been syndicated or on a private wannabe network like scifi.
