Graduate sues college because she's jobless.

*sighs*

Though, I think, Americans' put too much emphasis on education and yet don't do anything to really help. Our K-12 schools are getting worse and worse each year, as we slowly focus more and more on a select few subjects. And then everyone says, get a college degree because it can help.

No, college degrees in truth don't help. They are just pieces of paper. Having a steady job is, in truth, what really helps. You graduate from college, they don't care because you need to have worked as well. You need experience. College doesn't really give you that unless you are lucky to land an internship somewhere.

Bah. Our education needs reform.

This will look good on resume. What company wouldn't want to hire somebody who sues her own school? :rommie:

Anyone surprised she didn't get a job yet?

If her lawsuit is an example of her character HR people will pick up that something's fishy with her and leave her be.. after all the market has enough graduates to fill up top positions.

As i understand her grades aren't all that great so that's an additional problem.

I am glad someone is finally doing something about the extremely poor level of service at college career centers these days. When you pay 70,000 (or even a fraction of that)for something you should get first class service. Yes the 4.0 students should get more opportunities than the 2.7 ones, but the average students need opprotunities as well.

Err, maybe shes had her head in the books for a bit too long. In case she hasnt notice a lot of companies aren't hiring, they're laying off. Some companies are hiring, sure, but last time I checked we are still in a recession.

Her degree is in information-technology, which to start with is a flood field on the best of days, more so now. Hells, I know people that been in various tech fields for years and within the last few months to a year they've went from making $30+ an hour to making min. flipping burgers or working stocker and cashiers somewhere. The job market sucks right now, and the tech industry-- like most others-- got raped and is getting raped in this recession.

Which is why I chose business management. I have an affinity for technology and would love to have a tech degree, but my future depends upon a large, open market. I believe the business degree's the way to go.

Life, liberty and the entitlement to happiness?
