Watching "the search" the other day and this made me think

Good episode. You got a holy s*** moment as we find out that Odo's people are the Founders and we get the first look at the Defiant.

But what I don't understand is why is that Romulan was in charge of so many key systems on the Defiant considering it was an "un-official warship" and so you would think it was kind of classified. Think she was monitoring the engines, shields, weapons a lot to do when she was only meant to be there to observe the "cloaking tech" making sure the Feds don't use it on their side of the worm hole.

Possibly they were just milking her efficiency for all it was worth instead of just having her sit around monitoring one device.

It was almost as though they had planned a Federation/Romulan alliance and the Seska chick as a permanent crew member- but then decided against it. Good. I hated her.

But that episode sucked in so many ways.
