^ Well, okay, the occasional multivitamin couldn't hurt. But remember, I work in a supermarket, and I've seen the kind of useless crap that infests the pharmacy aisles. 99% of that stuff is unnecessary. (As for cosmetics? More like 100%)
I agree that there are a lot of random herbal remedies and crap out there, but I certainly wouldn't consider those to be real supplements. Supplements are meant to provide you with the nutrients you are missing from your normal diet. It can be hard to eat all of the necessary things from whole food alone (whether you can't afford it or you just don't have time to cook/eat that much food during the day). That's what real supplements should be for.
