Now that would make sense if he meant it that way. His articulation leaves some room for assumption. I don't rewatch movies I consider bad either, skip button or not. Maybe he can come back and clarify if your assumption, which makes sense, is right.

Since I'm not watching the bad parts, it's not as much of a waste of time as one would think. Besides, while I dislike about half the movie, I like the other half. The beginning of it, Obi-Wan on Kamino, and the appearance of the Clone Troopers are all fun. Hell, I even stop skipping once Anakin and Padme have left Naboo and start looking for his mother.

I have Netflix and watch at least 3-5 movies a month that I've not seen.

I had Netflix, but I wanted to introduce my brother to Battlestar Galactica. So I went ahead and changed the name and address on it to him (although I'm still paying the monthly bill on it). Soon as he's done with the series I'm getting it back.

I liked the original trilogy when it came out when I was a kid. I saw bits and pieces of the first film in the second trilogy and not a single scene of the last two movies.

I dont care for any of the movies and find them all hard to watch. The only one that was ok to watch was New Hope, but the rest just were boring.
PM was ok, but AofClones boring and Revenge of Sith, too drawn out.

They were good for one watch threw, but thats it.

But don't take my word for it. Listen to the critics here, here, and here. The critics, to their credit, are far more positive about the third film than I am. But, then again, when "the only one at all worth watching [of the prequels]" is positive praise, what gives?

Uh, a lot of those reviews give RotS much higher praise than "it's the only one worth watching of the prequals."

I use to like the original trilogy, but I got burnt out on it so bad that it just makes me cringe now. The prequel movies are mostly garbage (though EP2&3 have their moments).

I have no interest in the novels. I have a few Tales of the Jedi comics.

I absolutely loved Knights of the Old Republic, and would very much like to see anything even remotely as well written up on the big screen some day.

Star Wars was alright in my opinion. Not great, but not terrible either. I actually did like Revenge of the Sith, though. I liked the story of how Anakin became Darth Vader.
The only one I really don't like is The Phantom Menace. Not sure why, that one just never really appealed to me, and I found that kid who played Anakin completely annoying. My little brother is a huge Star Wars fan, though. But he is only nine years old so I don't think he really understands the movies yet, because he knows how into Star Trek I am, and he is always trying to make comparisons despite the fact he has never watched Star Trek. It is very irritating, but I just try to ignore it.

I was three when the first one came out, and I just grew up with them for many of the formative years of my childhood. When the prequels came out, I was definitely excited to see new stories. I loved TPM when it first came out, my wife and I saw it at least six times in the theater. Then the internet told me I was supposed to hate it, so I did. Then the internet told me it was okay to like parts of it, so I did. Now, I just enjoy them on my own terms and I look forward to seeing more stories (like the live action TV series). I love the original Clone Wars animated series, and I'm looking forward to DVD set of the first season of the new one (we don't have cable).

I'm not so blind as to not see the problems though. Every movie since 1983 needs another good pass through the editing bay (I'd love to see the Rebel ground troops fighting on Endor, if it wasn't filmed way back when, then film it now against blue screen and stick it in; also in Jedi, any more of the conversation between Ben's ghost and Luke after Yoda dies would help immensely).

And to be perfectly blunt, the lack of 16x9 transfers on DVD of the original versions would help my feelings towards the overall saga immensely. I used to wear out my VHS versions playing them over and over, I could do the dialogue with the actors after a time. Not having that available has unfortunately clouded my perception towards the saga. It's not logical, I know, but it's one Star Trek has over Star Wars: Paramount isn't afraid to put their IP's to good use.

I watched the first three films as a child, renting them from the library's video collection (Betamax, no less); it is pretty much impossible for me to be objective about the films now, and I will say that at the time ESB was the least favourite (which is to say, I'd only watch it three times in a row instead of four like the other two) because it didn't have the big battles at the end.

Prequel trilogy, I think the films are essentially alike: flat acting, cringeworthy dialogue, great action, awesome vistas. They get better as one goes along if only because they learned to focus of their strengths, the latter aspects, and rely less on humane elements like characters and relationships which they simply could not get right.

As other people have mentioned, the EU is a lot better than the films themselves, given the opportunity to make a cohesive universe with some thought behind it. Good games, a fair number of good books in the past, but mostly a rich, deep, collaborative exercise in worldbuilding.

And also that Metacritic scores faint praise such as that (another example would be, "A vast improvement over the previous two outings, but still and all, it's no 'Star Wars.'") as in the green. Check.

I can't even conceive that there is anybody that doesn't like the OT. It would just boggle my mind.

I'm a lifelong Trek fan, but also a big fan of the OT and a despiser of the PT... I was 15 and a half when Star Wars came out and saw it 23 times in the theaters [no downloading, PPV or videos in those days lol], and Empire is my favorite. I've always considered myself a Trekfan first, partly because I was one first, before SW existed of course, and because I like the Trekverse more... I think it's somewhat unfair to SW to compare it to Trek because there's so much more Trek -- even with the new Lucas animated series there's still over six hundred hours of canon Trek out there, many times more than SW has. It's just a deeper experience...

Yeah, but I didn't see all that many in the green that damned the film with faint praise. Not that it matters as I was looking at the number score, not the green, yellow and red.
