Your favourite first officer?

Always Spock, followed by Kira.

Spock is my all-time favorite Trek character, but Kira is quite close as another one of my favorites (whether she can be considered the first officer or not)... so I'm tempted to vote for her just to give her a chance of beating Riker in the poll, since Spock is winning anyway. OTOH, how can I vote for anyone else if Spock is in the poll?

Hmm, I'll have to think about that a little longer before I vote...

Spock is the best Star Trek character ever so this was easy. I don't really care for Chakotay or T'Pol, but Chakotay seems more personable.

I really like Spock but Kira was just more fascinating () for me.

Spock is my favorite XO, even though TOS isn't my favorite series. He's intelligent, calm, reliable and loyal. And sexy. :-)

Spock, followed closely by Kira. Then probably Chakotay followed by Riker. I can't comment on T'Pol since I haven't watched ENT and didn't know she was a first officer.

Spock was my easy choice. I never really saw Kira acting in that role, either, despite really liking her as a character. I always saw her as representing Bajoran interests first. Riker, for all of his personal flaws, did make a good first officer. Functionally, I think he was better than Kira, though personally, I thought she was more intriguing.

How could anyone choose Chakotay over Spock and Riker?

The actor was horrible, he was only chosen for his Native American heritage.

Chakotay was just a warm piece of furniture.

Obviously not everyone agrees, Readyandwilling. I picked Spock, of course, and second would probably be Kira, but I much prefer Chakotay to Riker. But then again, I never did care for Riker, not one little bit. Sorry - apparently these things vary more than you expected them to. There is no shortage of opinion on the BBS.

Whatever dude. You're entitled to your own opinions but for me, Chakotay was the most loyal..hey how would you like to be a Maquis fighting for your life and then sent to the Starship Voyager for seven plus years? That would be quite a shock for you, wouldn't it? I know it would for me!
The actor was horrible in your eyes because of the producers-he showed so much potential but was never able to follow through with that potential. And for that, I don't blame the actor-I blame the damn producers of the show! What's with those lame-brain comments about him being a piece of wood?? He's a person, not a tool which you could run over in the mud. And he was actually Mexican, although he did have somewhat of a Native American heritage. I'm just clarifying that for you.

I do like Spock very very much as well and put him as number two on my list because of his logical thinking. He was definitely a great icon!! Him and William Shatner!
