Re: STAR TREK:COUNTDOWN...Should It Be Canonized as Background for Mov
no thanks. countdown was a bunch of cameos and lame non-science, some of which made it into the film. geordi laforge really didn't have to design the jellyfish. data really didn't have to be captain. worf didn't have to be the klingon commander. it was a parade of who's who from TNG.
I have to agree with that, im only reading a part at the time, and so far ive only read up to Part 3, but so far, whilst the origin of the Jellyfish could always have stood some explaining, the idea that was Geordi who made it, seems a bit unlikely, and then the Klingons so guess who shows up in that, none other than Worf.
im not surprised Riker & Troi dont show up, they are busy with the Titan, no point confusing that area of the Trekverse.
TBH I am only shocked that Beverly Crusher is not seen on one of the USS Pasteur clones.
meanwhile "The resulting explosion will create a unique singularity that will absorb the energy unleashed by a the supernova" , isnt that basically what they did in Time Crash?
then again we should not be surprised by all this TNG ness given the "Afterword" from the authors about how much they love TNG.
That said I agree it does given Neo a backstory & arguably a personality , something he is missing in the movie, so I would like to think that the comic could be canon, if only for that reason.
Also it does say "Offical Movie Prequel" on the back, which tends to suggest it is more canon than say the Titan novels.
