and my Mum won't let me go to Knebworth

Why not AB FAB? :D

I wanna be Patsy :guffaw:

i'd call the police and have him arrested for theft. and tell them he's a suicide risk.

Bankcard returned intact, don't really want to squeal to the police ~ just yet. Sure it will all come out in the wash :vulcan:

Am emotionally and physically exhausted now though, and looking forward to Mother's Day An Officer ;)

k sorry you are going through this.
one of my relatives had one problem child that was just determined to
be a black sheep. some things eventually turned out ok.
other people i have known had kids who were wild for several years until in their mid 20's
then they calmed down and even became things like doctors.

but depending on how they are doing at the time and if there is a clear and present danger then the medicine may be harsh.

i dont know the laws there but is it possible that you can sign them into a program. especially if they keep on pulling the suicide card.
wish you luck.

(from a 16yr old's point of view)...

I'M SOOOOO GOING TO KNEBWORTH ~ Sonisphere gig this weekend *whoop whoop ~ cartwheels and vague jumping up and down*

Once prompted, I realised I had to be honest and apologise to the people that I lied to ~ Mum, her Man, Nana & Scrags, Dad, 2nd Mum etc. but when they understood how much I wanted to go and I got Mum to talk to Jonny's Mum and know everything was arranged it's all worked out really cool  They clubbed together (and spoken together for the first time in a long time, which sucks for me but apparently adults like to *have total control*) and Mum's even got me an emergency kit of bin bags ~ apparently I'll have to wear them, with these red jeans ~ I don't think so  Money bags to put my phone in and she bought me some baccy and a new lighter, I know she hates me smoking but I just think she wants me to have a real good time. Mum's man gave to the money to get the T'shirt ~ apparently you 'haven't been there 'til you got it' Must be an old timer's thing.

But anyway I'm so blinking excited I've actually given Mum the machine early tonight so I can get to sleep :)

----
So there you go folks ~ the end of the story. A win - win situation for all I think and he's promised to get photos :)

Thank you all for you concern and advice and I hope you all agree that it's turned out for the best ~ still doesn't mean I won't be on that PA though :guffaw:

K'eh

So it all worked out beautifully...

He calls this "early"?

You should have been here a few hours ago... you missed all the fun.

Maybe that was for the best from your angle...

Hope it's a long-term change, not just until the weekend.

I'm hoping it was a blip and that we all talked it through and came to an understanding will make him realise in future that it is better to be honest up front.

yours,
optimistic and probably naive, but smiley Mum :)

Oh God ~ just keep smiling, smiling, smiling away [there must be a song there somewhere -- Zee] [don't talk for him -- All] [sorry -- K'eh]

It's worked for other kids before, and yours is obviously a smart boy. Here's hoping optimism and great rock concerts win the day :)

Glad to hear it's all settled and you have your peace of mind back. :techman:

He's gone ~ with his back pack and sleeping bag, looking like a big snail

And my peace of mind has gone with him :guffaw:

No I'm going to be cool about this

Arggh must text and see if he's got the train ok...

And what did he learn from this?

I can lie, steal, (smoke,) but if I return safely and apologize to all, they'll be so relieved to see me that they'll give me what I want after all.

Bad strategy. He'll do stuff again because he now knows he can get away with it. I know it's hard with teens (I raised three,) but if any of them had pulled that, they'd be picking out flowers for their own funerals right before I killed them with my bare hands.

Maybe, maybe not. The optimist in me would hope that what he learns is that he nearly missed out on a great concert and to take a better route in future.

That's the trouble with kids, you don't know if you've done the right or wrong thing until years later!
