K'ehleyr. I assume this festival is Sonisphere, at which Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Mastodon and Lamb of God are playing.
Keeping him from this epic lineup of several of the greatest metal bands still playing today is verging on inhumanly cruel

I do not oppose this plan. That actually would be the ultimate punishment, "Son, you're grounded, now excuse me while I go and see Metallica... ENTER NIGHT, EXIT LIIIIGHT!"

Thing is I really do want him to go, it is an awesome line up and would be his first proper gig. His fav japanese band - FACT are going to be there and he won't get a chance to see them again.
The sixteen year old inside me is saying 'don't be such a bitch ~ remember what you got up to' but the Mum in me is saying he's lied about this and I want him to understand that that is not acceptable. I got the bankcard back and it has not been used ~ also highly emphasised the fact that going through my purse is a *very bad thing* and not a way to build trust.
The meeting of 'the coven', with him present, have decided that it is up to him. He will have to come clean, apologise and be honest to all concerned, hold his hands up and say 'sorry I lied but I really want this' and see if he can convince us he can be trusted. It is going to be up to him to raise the money.
This is going to be his first 'adult' decision ~ if he is man enough to admit he messed up with his approach, build bridges with the people that he has hurt, and prove he can be trusted - then he can go with my best wishes to have a brilliant time.
Oh and I also need to talk to this Jonny's Mum.
