^I agree that 13 eps might see a return to S2, but to be honest after CoE I don't think that's a bad thing. If they try and replicate S3 I don't think they'll be able to pull it off so it might be best to go for something completely different. A 13 ep series that mixed S2 style eps with S3 style eps might work if they can balance the light/dark (though s2 wasn't exactly cheery!)

they should bring him back, and then kill him 30 seconds later, just to annony the fangirls, or make it all Jacks dream.
that said cant believe I have not made this post yet, but this is not offical conformation, and I will not believe it until I see it on the proper BBC.

While I've been very happy with Torchwood the last two seasons, I'm left uncertain as to the direction of the show after Children of Earth. The various scenarios already dicsussed here don't really appeal to me, so I'm not sure what I'll get out of it. I'll just have to wait and seen.

At this point you'd almost figure that the UK populace would demand a huge Torchwood type program on the scale of TW London seen in Who, I mean how many alien invasions can they forget?
This is an organisation who's HQ has a big sign by the road that reads "UNIT Secret Headquarters" in at least two of the Pertwee stories...
Hey, it's the 21st century. Everything changes. For all we know, UNIT is now a household name, the guys who usually dealw ith alien crap. You know, they have their own flying ship and everything.

as for how well known is UNIT, Cydle did not seem to know about UNIT until Sarah Jane told him.

I dont know if I was a 15 year old in the Whoverse, I would probaly be looking at alot of online conspiracy theories about the aliens, and im sure they would be a few about UNIT
I dunno folks ... I was at the Dubuque, IA Best Buy tonight to finally pick up my copy of CoE. Along with Planet of the Dead, it was released in both DVD and Blu-Ray today. One copy of CoE left in any format in the store. I bought it -- it was Blu-Ray. Planet of the Dead was the same. Torchwood S1 and S2 were also released on Blu-ray today. There were no copies left.
So when my cashier (a friendly, but slightly bobble headed brunette college student) asked if I found everything OK, I complained about how few copies there were. She said to me, "Yeah, what is this Torchwood, anyway? I've sold a ton of copies today!" Outwardly, I tried to explain. Inwardly, I fistpumped.
If this is any indication, the DVD and Blu-Ray sales should certainly justify another season.

I actually like the Blakes 7 comparison. With Gwen doing her best to reassemble the team and carry on with the mission. Naturally Jack would stagger in around mid-season just when things were looking their worst.
