It was announced at Comic-Con. The anime is going to be called Halo Legends and this will be done like the Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight movies. Looks cool!

First Halo fiction I'm not at all interested in.

Fuck anime and fuck it's goddamn prevalence.

Alrighty then...

I guess I should say Halo shouldn't shit up my anime, but I guess I don't really care either way. More bald space marines and hot chicks in armor I guess.

Such anime hate in here :p

I'll give it a shot, if only because I'm curious about these American-Japanese projects. Some have been really entertaining (Afro Samurai and its sequel as well as the Kill Bill scene) and some have been less than entertaining (Im looking at you batman)

For those who dislike such things though, its a trend that doesnt look to be stopping soon as Blade, X-Men, the Hulk and Iron Man are all getting anime adaptations

Blade in particular will probably work well, since there is already anime out there just like it

Wow... I was expecting it to be hyperbolae... But that really was quite underwhelming. How can you make sci-fi action look boring. Well here is a case study.

A bad mesh of obviously 3D stuff for some scenes, and a complete hand-drawn look for other scenes. Poor.

Well, that much is because its being done by different animation studios. Like with the Animatrix, they have different groups making a different episode. Each episode isn't really all that related to each other. Some studios are doing an all CGI episode (thats probably the obvious CGI that you noticed), others are doing more traditional hand drawn animation

It's five different studios handling different stories. It's basically their version of animatrix.

Really, on first glance, the only one I'm interested in is the Bones one.

Yeah boring but the trailer they chose to make did not help any either. Whats with all the logo close ups? Almost half the trailer was of a close up of moving letters or something.

I'm not massively into Halo (Only played the first game on the PC - enjoyed it though) but I don't think I'll go out of my way to see this.:(

I much prefer other Halo trailer that came out.

Looks boring.

Isn't Anime always? No need to trashify the Halo franchise...

Okay mods hoping you haven't seen this thread yet, if not why does this not earn warnings?

As for this project, it's their Animatrix. People choose to ignore parts of franchises all the time. If you don't like this, don't watch it.

I've never played Halo, nor do I really care about the franchise, but good lord that was a boring trailer.

Well, it was an announcement trailer and not a story trailer?

The point was just to show off the studios they got to do this thing... which probably doesn't mean much except to Japanese people and American anime nerds.

Yeah. Jesus Christ. I didn't realize there was so much anime hate on this board! I'm looking forward to this. For me it's two cool things added together.

Halo + Anime = Win!

Since the live action Halo movie looks to be dead now this is great for many fans that are interested in Halo fiction. I'm especially looking forward to checking "Origins" the 30 minute two-parter which tells the entire 100,000 year history of the Halo universe. The Halo series getting it's own Silmarillion!
