I think you guys a being a bit harsh with Yeoman Randi. Thankfully it sailed over the heads of the kids I took.
It was a Star Trek movie. I was wanting to pre-screen it for my niece and nephew. My mom's response to that - "It is Star Trek." - Insert idiot facial expressions.
I took them to my first viewing. Ages 6 and 10. They were angels. Kids acting out in theaters is not the issue methinks.
I personally felt that comment made Uhura seem a bit small. That is why I hated it.
What I found offensive about the Galia scene was it implied it was ok (in Kirk's mind, granted) for him to play the field, but he seemed put off by Galia's "level of activity."
