^ Yeah. The fact that the New Series forum gets a little crazy sometimes is no different than the way the ENT forum used to get back in day; personally, I always stayed out of both.
The ENT forum was a nightmare while the show was still on. I wouldn't want to hang around in a forum like that. Nowadays, it's actually a nice place.
Yeah, that site was the epitome of the "fanatic" part of "fan". They mostly do a great disservice to Doctor Who fandom worldwide by keeping company with such a sad, pathetic forum of psychopaths. Good riddance, I say...
I'm glad others had positive experiences with that forum. However, given that the owner and operators of said forum seemed to endorse such sociopathic remarks, I can't separate the "New Series" forum from the entire site. I just hope shutting this site down goes a long way in dispersing the negative elements back to their respective internet basements...

Were you ever around the old ST.com boards? I was part of the "Sinister Six". Ah, the memories of that whole TU/Save Enterprise thing. I had so much fun.![]()
Not sad to see it go at all, very unwelcoming place, I mean they won't even let you browse the forum without joining, and joining was just painful. For gods sake it's a forum about Doctor Who, not National security, why does it have to be kept secret unless you're a member?
It appears Gallifreybase has taken over but is probably just going to be more of the same.
How did they get any members by banning people on free e-mail.Took me awhile to get in since at the time they had a ban on anyone using a free e-mail service.
So wasn't OG pretty much the 'internet fandom' that RTD used to warn his coworkers about?
I don't know what most people do, but I used my college email address when registering. I imagine those without one use work addresses or free e-mail services that are low-profile enough to not be blocked. How did they get any members by banning people on free e-mail.Took me awhile to get in since at the time they had a ban on anyone using a free e-mail service.![]()
Yes the monster was designed by a kid, but his personality and place in the story was supposed to represent the fanatical end of fandom. The rest of LINDA were friends because of the Doctor but they had other interests, and eventually started talking about things other than Doctor Who- Then Peter Kay comes in and says no we're only talking about Dr Who now, and basically takes over.
What are all the alternative forum websites now that Outpost Gallifrey is gone?

I remember reading somewhere rumours that the Absorbaloff's human form was actually meant to be a crack at Ian Levine, who apparently had done something to irk various other members of Doctor Who fandom. Whether there is any truth to the rumour I don't know.
