Spock is GAY?!

Zachary Quinto's sexuality/personal life is something he doesn't discuss.
The rumor started because he's had a couple bisexual/gay roles (the kiss wasn't even real), some of his metrosexual mannerisms and the fact that he's articulate. The rumors largely seem to center around his role on So NoTORIous.
You'll also pretty much note that every actor on IMDb has some 'Are they gay?' thread (often of the wishful-thinking variety). Even the ones that are completely ridiculous with a lot of evidence to the contrary; though admittedly, ZQ's love life is total and complete mystery.
And as for ZQ playing 'straight' roles, he's done heterosexual romantic scenes both in Heroes and Star Trek XI. His Sylar character even has a sexual scene with the character Elle during The Eclipse two-parter. His Sylar and Spock roles are straight, anyway. Sylar has had more female love interests on Heroes than most of the heroes--and he's the villain!

And I thought from the title that this was one of the fanfic writers' speculations about Spock and Kirk... 
Nile already said all I would have. I don't know why people bother to speculate and spread rumors, if they're so interested, why don't they just try to find him and ask him? How are people on the Internet who don't even know an actor supposed to know about his private life?

I've assumed he was gay since I first saw him as Adam Kaufman on season 3 of 24. But maybe Adam Kaufman the character was just gay.

I don't know. Don't care...truly I don't. Could well be he's gay. But i's not like we haven't had gay actors on the bridge of the Enterprise before!

In any event, Quinto is an actor - so he plays all types of people. If he's gay, he will play straight roles, and obviously, if he's straight, he can and will be playing gay roles. An actor plays a variety of characters, each unique...that's why it's called...acting. Maybe he's gay, maybe he's bi - who knows? It doesn't really matter since his sex life is his own personal business and no one elses. I refuse to get anxty about something that is or isn't, is totally outside my control and is totally irrelevant to my enjoymnet of NuTrek.
What matters to me is how he plays Spock, and Quinto's a great Spock - a character who happens to be straight. NuSpock is very sexy and that suits me fine.

Because we are humans and, despite what the PC crowd would have you think,this kind of stuff interests more people than you think. Or hadn't you noticed?

That's not saying much, especially when people are "suggesting" it because they 1) read someone say it on Internet and 2) the someone that wrote it in the first place said he was gay based on the following evidence:
1) "Look at this scene [from SoNoTORIous]. He played a gay guy! So he must be gay!"
2) "He doesn't have a girlfriend that I know of" [or a boyfriend, for that matter); single = gay
3) "I get the gay vibe off him"
[logical problem: Uh, well, if I don't, does that cancel itself out? ]^ Yes, I have seen threads with people claiming he was gay, and these are the arguments given.
2) means nothing, though - did you know that Chris Pine and Milo Ventimiglia are also gay, according to people who post on IMDB, despite everyoneknowing about the girls they've dated? Evidence: "he looks totally gay". Who could argue with that?
Ventimiglia is particularly sly - having had a controversial and for a time secret relationship with his almost underage female co-star, only to cover up his homosexuality! How clever! Again I ask, what is the point? Does anyone really think they'll find something out by speculating on the Internet? If a person wants to frak him and therefore needs to know if they'd have a chance, well, just find him, meet him and ask him! If they have no chance of meeting him, well, in that case they don't have the chance of shagging him anyway, so why does it even matter?
