I got it. I like it.

Yeah the servers are really weird at the moment. Seems the didn't anticipate thje demand for it and they keep filling.
Have played it for a bit in spite of this thought and it's a lot of fun
I couldn't do anything but the tutorial on the demo-are you s'posed to be able to actually play on the demo? I kept getting "Couldn't connect to EA servers" when I tried to play any version of the actual game.
This game was a waste of money. I can't even play it at the moment.

I tried to DL the xbox version but it was taking what seemed to be a whole day, once i got it downloaded i spent i dont know how long on Wednesday trying to log in....I gave up.....then on Thursday it appeared on the PSN, 15 mins to DL it and before i knew it my 30min trial was over.
Seems ok and played very smoothly, but £10 for 3 maps seems a bit stiff, i wonder why they did not release the whole 1942 game instead of just 3 maps considering a took up only 2 CDs at the time.

So I spent many hours over the weekend playing this game and I've definitely been enjoying it.
It's funny, because I'm pretty bad at first person shooter games on consoles... I just suck at quickly aiming with the controller. The thing is, I'm pretty decent at flying planes and driving tanks. I'm also better then most players when it comes to tactics, so I usually still end up in the top third or half of the players on my team.

Absolutely loving this. It's one of very few online games that I'm actually good at, bizarrely. Have more than half of the achievements and I've been the top ranked player in 3 matches so far.
I've not played any other BF game so I'm coming into this one completely fresh, and it's been 100% worth the 1200 points.
Can't wait until the 4th map is unlocked! (although I gather it's a "planes only" affair, but still, should be sweet)
EDIT: According to the official site, the 360 community has less than 15 million kills to go before the new game mode/map is unlocked. PS3 is trailing behind with just shy of 30 million to go.

I just got this last night. I couldn't fly the planes at all, there's something about the controller setup that's so much different than other setups (like Ace Combat for example) that I just couldn't get the hang of it.
Finally gave up and just stuck with the ground war. I enjoyed it a lot but as is usual for me in these online games, I sometimes have a hard time getting a kill. Seems like I fill somebody full of lead and just can't kill them. Presumably it's a combination of lag and me just not aiming properly.
Nevertheless it was a fun game, certainly worth $15.

It pays to go for headshots in this, and using zoom aim to do it. I tend to play as a rifleman and that tends to garner the most kills for me, the rifle is one-shot lethal with decent aim and a bit of luck.
Although it also pays to jump in a tank and napalm the fuckers to death.

I guess I just have such poor eye-hand coordination (seriously folks, it borders on being a disability) that I have a hard time with a precise shots, so I usually have to go the "spray and pray" route. I run the tutorial with the SMGs and easily hit the targets in like one shot. But when I'm playing online, I can't seem to hit anything which I attribute partially to me sucking but I also think lag is causing issues too.
It seems like when I go for the rifle, I have difficulties with up close enemies.
