This is treading close to actionable libel, now.
It depends US means United States or the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.MikeNeko,
Do you live in the U.S.? Did you enjoy your holiday weekend?
Really? While that episode certainly put [then] New Voyages on the map, compared to what has come since it is supercilious fan-wank of the highest order. You're right about the uniqeness of the effects, though I think I prefer the more calmed down version in recent episodes. All it really needed was a kitchen sink and a character named Mary Sue.Understood and accepted.
Another favorite of mine is Erik Korngold's "In Harms Way". True to the TOS Canon. The story is extremely well written, twists and turns yet easy to follow. The special effects were great!
I figured it was just a way to get Sulu back on the ship, and to shut up all the DeSalle fans who were whining that he was being kicked off the series. (Which it turned out, he wasn't.) Great shot of the ship hurtling past the sun, though.I guess finally the vignette "Center Seat" Great dialogue between DeSalle and Sulu. Fresh perspective on crew members that do not get enough time on film.

Putting aside any mixed reviews about Zicree personally (the whole "Hugo" debate got out of hand) he did turn out a fantastic episode. That's the kind of "moving on" I'd like to keep seeing from the P2 people.
The controversy, IIRC, was not about the WEAT Hugo nomination but about certain circumstances surrounding its Nebula nomination

Which one is given by science fiction writers to acknowledge their own in a professional capacity (which is what stirred up the controversy ... the word "professional" ... and one is voted by fans as well as pros, and is for the episode overall.
I knew some smart person would have the answer.
Meh. That's just behind the scenes yadda yadda yadda political stuff. No fans of our product really care about that stuff. If they do, they shouldn't. They should put their eyes back on the prize. The only people I've ever heard express any real interest in such things are disgruntled ex-Phase II'ers.
In any employment situation, when an employee leaves, the employer should never discuss the nature of the employee's departure. It's disrespectful, inappropriate, and just isn't classy. From a Labor Board standpoint, it's probably illegal, too. In truth, it's difficult to get people to commit year after year to a two week shoot (or multiple two-week shoots) with little to no compensation, so we are resigned to the notion that we are going to lose volunteers in all kinds of capacities in our productions--not just the most visible cast.
You might want to know more of the Human Resources details about these good staff people, but we really can't discuss their individually different stories--even if it's to defend ourselves against false allegations. But we wish them well in their careers, and we are proud of their involvement in our series. We are all the stronger for their prior involvement.
Buddy Ebsen did apparently have a reaction. And I kinda liked Buddy Ebsen as the Tin Man..He would have given the Beverly Hilbillies more star power and we would have gotten at least three more quality seasons of Barnaby Jones.![]()
I agree he would have been good if MGM did not try to poison him with that makeup. I believe the woman painted gold in "Goldfinger" became very sick because they completely covered her body in gold makeup
Shirley Eaton didn't die on the set of Goldfinger.. She hung herself on the set of Wizard of Oz!!
I second that emotion!Shirley Eaton didn't die on the set of Goldfinger.. She hung herself on the set of Wizard of Oz!!
