When I die I expect to be burnt and my remains mixed into some cement so I can actually do something useful for a change. Wife/Friends can blow their cash on a party or funeral I could care less.

I think this sort of event is not only normal but pretty much expected when such a popular and famous figure dies. He lived in entertainment, his death is entertainment. Great musician, tortured human being. The only sad thing is that some (not all, I'm sure) of the celebrities that are attending are doing it only to show themselves off.

I'm not interested but they had it on the TV where I had lunch (low sound, thank goodness) and it looked like it was very well done.

Agreed.

Honestly, I love his musical contributions, but I'm more interested in the person. I wanted to know how he thought, because he did seem like such a tortured person.

Oh, and I'm watching right now as Al Sharpton is speaking, and God I can't stand that man, or Jesse Jackson, or Joe Jackson.

I don't know the Jenifer Hudson thing was pretty emotional, at least for me. Just because after losing so many members of her own family members due to violence, she really brought the meaning of true grief to the situation...

I don't really care about watching it, not that I could even if I wanted to. It started at 10:30 AM, it's not like I'm going to take the day off work just to watch it. Kind of a bad time for anyone who has to work during the day, even for the east coast folks.

The only way I could care less is if I die. Wont' watch, don't care. I just hate that there is NO other news being reported because of this crap.
