Could we be living in a "Basement Universe"?

Meredith

Vice Admiral
Admiral
A basement universe is defined as a universe that is created inside of another Universe. Put simply if you take enough matter and energy and manipulate it properly you can create a new universe with new physical properties that you may be able to fine tune.

Now what if our universe was one that was artificially created? Is there anyway we could determine this from the inside looking out? Some speculate that if we are able to to accurately and with enough precision look at the Cosmic Background Radiation in enough resolution we may be able to see a pattern.

What would the implications be if we found out we are in a basement universe?

Most of the time, I get the feeling that we are stuck in a bargain-basement universe.

They skimped on the materials and now gravity leaks through to the other universes making it a complete and utter failure. I am sure our universe has already been placed on the curb and an ad placed on craig's list proclaiming there is a free universe to anyone who wants it, so far no takers.

Our universe and it's shoddy workmanship may end up in the garbage dump...

Great, we're the universe where all other universe stash their old shit.

Who's '68 Triumph is this?

Advanced pandimensional alien civilizations still look upon the Earth as a 4.54 billion year old virgin still living in its parents' basement Universe.

That could actually explain a lot about the open problems in current cosmology. It sounds almost like the brane cosmology but just, you know, actually making sense.

It could be cyclical, I hear they're testing this theory with three satellites being used to detect gravitational distortions this year!
