"Unknown Life-Form" found in sewer system

Awwww, nobody liked my caption on Page 3? :(
I did, but I don't think many other people know Harlan Ellison these days.

Weird...seemed to me that just a few months ago, there were a hell of a lot of legal debates (again) involving him.
I think there was a little uproar concerning the new Trek movie, but somebody faked it. I don't know of any other controversies he's been involved with lately aside for intellectual property rights. I'm sure most of his time is spent diligently preparing The Last Dangerous Visions for publication.

Finally someone gets it!
I have to confess, I did not get that one.

hey RJ!

it's from the 1988 Japanese animated movie Akira where one of the main characters, Tetsuo is evolving; his body is in need of energy source (due to massive drug use) and somewhat looks like that sewer creature... When Testuo lost control, he got absorbed by his own body mass. His best friend Kaneda screamed "Testuooooooooooooo"...

Oh, yeah, I've seen Akira, but it was a long time ago. I remember that creature transformation, though. :rommie:

Damn, that is creepy! I would be curious to see what the official word is on what those are. Just from appearances, worms seem plausible enough, but part of me questions whether or not they would really all contract simultaniously like that. Kinda neat, but pretty disgusting too.

It really is kinda indistinct and blob-like, yet seems to have these thin streamer-like appendages. The central body kinda relaxes and contracts, like some slimy....alien scrotum or muscular pouch....really strange. I wonder if it's some kind of exotic sea creature that maybe somebody flushed down a toilet.....weird. I think there's more than one shown in the video...?

Wow.

I found something very similiar to this as a kid. We were in my friend's boat, going up a small creek. There were these strange, gooey things growing around the branches of dead trees that had fallen over and partly into the water.

It was a very muddy green coloured, and semi-translucent. It was around football-sized and -shaped. It had little bumps on it, kind of like the bumps on a brain. It didn't move, though.

We put it in our bail bucket and took it home. I promptly poked it with a stick. After a few days it died and disintegrated in the bucket into a big goopey mess.

I'm pretty sure I killed their comrade and these sewer aliens are here to exact vengeance :(

In case you didn't see the earlier link, they're bryozoa. You can probably look 'em up in YT or teh Goggle. I'm too tired right now

Indeed. I was told at the time it was a bryozoa, as well.

I sure hope the Bryozoan ambassador is understanding. Our planet depends on it.

First reaction: Thats curious:vulcan:
Second reaction: Ewww:wtf:...
Third reaction: Somebody place a call to Fox Mulder:cool:!
Fourth reaction: Read the entire chain of posts..before posting...

There was no alien. The creature you saw in the sewer was not a parasitic blob. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

neuralizes everyone
