Anyway, I'm a member of the Franklin Institute and just got word (it was also just listed on their website, http://www.fi.edu) that on July 31 starting at 7pm, there will be an "Evening with Avery Brooks and Samuel Delany" there! It's going to be a moderated discussion on African-Americans and their role in Science Fiction (film, written, etc.)
I think it's also open to non-members for $5.00, so it may be worth checking out!
