TMP Bridge Playset

Gorn Captain

Commander
Red Shirt
Just had a flashback and remembered that I had one of these in 1980.

Sadly, it was because my father didn't know the difference between that and the Death Star playset I really wanted.:wtf:

Anyway, thirty years later, I want one. No luck on eBay. Anyone have any suggestions where to look? Many thanks.

By the way, Dad, thanks for the Boston University Terriers jacket instead of the Red Sox one. Just what you want when you're 12.

Keep hunting on eBay. They do turn up regularly. But they're usually expensive.

I think it was a combination turbolift door/airlock, if memory serves - I believe it was supposed to be compatible with the Vulcan shuttle toy, which would supposedly "dock" with the bridge there.

Never remove from packaging! NRFP!

Ick. What a horrible thought. If you're buyng for investment only, sure, but the packaging for this playset was a large plain white box with black printing on it, and the vacu-formed plastic inside is so light you'd think the box was empty. What fun is that?

The playset came second hand, from eBay, with stickers already supplied, but one day I do intend to paint it in authentic TMP bridge colours.

Hang the concept of NRFP. I like the item to display well.

Note that I customised the Mego TMP aliens, too.

I'm with you. I've opened all my action figures and displayed them. I really don't give two hoots about resell. I bought them for me and me alone. I was just joshing ya.

Display? I played with mine and everything. Even cut off the silly red beams on the phasers on those Playmates figures. WTF was the point in those? Probably some idiot Star Wars fan - I hope they got fired. :D

Any suggestions on how to word the search terms? Putting TMP in generally filters me down to 0. Putting in "Enterprise bridge" or "bridge playset" gets me five thousand of the MEGO TOS bridge and a few TNG ones. I guess sifting through that by picture is the best way?

Speaking of which, has anyone actually seen the Galoob playsets for their TNG line? I remember them being advertised but not seeing the Enterprise playset in the stores.

The playset never went beyond prototypes, although I believe some people do own those prototypes - along with a few rare 3.75" Romulans and Wesleys (on Picard cards).
