This is a thread dedicated to remembering Great Britain in the years 1994-1996
I was watching an episode of Peep Show the other day, where Jez is speaking of his uni days "Oh I have a degree my friend. I was there in the glory years- mid 90s. Britpop was kicking off, Four Weddings had just come out. It was mental"

Yet I would agree, Britain in the mid 90s was fookin awesome!
At least how I remember it. For the record I was born in 1984 and thus was only 10-12 in the years 1994-1996, but I still have so many great memories of that era. Maybe it sticks in my mind as it was the milestone time of going from Primary School to Secondary School.
Off the top of head, memories from that time-
The whole Britpop era of Oasis, Blur, Pulp, etc
Oasis vs Blur, the battle to end all battles. Blur won the battle for the Number 1, but Oasis went on to destroy them with the album
Whigfield – Saturday Night
Wet Wet Wet – Love is All Around (At number one for about forever)
The Fast Show- making its hilarious debut
The Big Breakfast- watching in the morning before school, days of Chris Evans & Gabby Roslin presenting
Outhere Brothers – Boom Boom Boom
Michael Jackson – Earth Song
Rednex – Cotton Eye Joe
Goldeneye- Pierce Brosnan arriving as the new James Bond
Trainspotting
Spice Girls- making their debut and becoming HUGE
Euro 96- not really a big football fan myself, but I remember how this really overtook the nation, with the below song being heard everywhere you went. Culminating in the infamous Gareth Southgate incident
Lightning Seeds, Baddiel & Skinner – Three Lions
TFI Friday- Perfect Friday night fodder. Chris Evans and Wiiiiiiiiil
Babylon Zoo – Spaceman
The Prodigy – Firestarter
Chemical Brothers – Setting Sun (Chemical Brothers + Noel Gallagher= no bad thing)
Michael Jackson vs Jarvis Cocker!
Mad for it!
So to fellow Brits I invite you to share your memories, good or bad, things you loved or hated, music, film, TV, politics, news, etc from that special (to me anyway) era!
