Losing the Peace extract in Star Trek Magazine 19

A) Thanks to all who have said nice things about the pieces of Peace that have emerged so far.

2) Please keep in mind this is not a spoiler thread, if you could? (Not that anyone's crossed the line yet, but I can see the moment coming...) Thanks again.

Noted. I did have that in mind when I posted my comment, but I think you were wise to remind us (I can get a bit enthusiastic...)

No problem. I realized that as I was writing my last post, so I tried to keep it pretty vague.

Oh, crap. I forgot to post when I got mine earlier this week. I did read the excerpt already (along with the book and comic reviews) and I really liked it. So now after that and the stuff I read on S&S I already know that I really like the book. I would have preordered it already, but since the Wal-Mart I work had Troublesome Minds, I was going to wait and see if they get this too.

FYI: Issue 19 has been spotted out in the wild (if one considers the B&N at Mall of America "the wild").

Cue subscribers asking where their copies are?

Seriously, these have been sent - if you subscribe and you don't receive your copy within the next 3-4 days, please PM me.

Official publication date is this coming Thursday!

Paul

Us Brits still have to wait a while :(

Yes, sorry...

I'm a subscriber, and got this as my first subscriber issue.

My copy arrived two days ago but I just today had time to read any of it. I must say to Paul that I really am enjoying this issue more than the last one. The variety of articles is very good. Not that I didn't enjoy all the cast articles last issue but truthfully I can't think of anything I read that hadn't already been said elsewhere on the internet. I especially enjoyed the Michael Giacchino article.

Issue 18 (aka the Movie Souvenir "Get your cast fix here" Issue) was deliberately designed to appeal to a wider audience than the usual readership of the magazine - and I gather, did exactly that from the feedback we got. In other words, we were writing as much for those who, up until they saw the movie, wouldn't have had the blindest bit of interest in what the actors had to say. I personally think you're wrong that everything in those interviews was available online beforehand - but I would say that!
Issue 19 just expanded and expanded and I had a fantastic time talking to the various people involved. There's still Roger Guyett and Ben Burtt to come later in the summer, as well as JJ and Mindy Hall (makeup) who are in issue 20.
Glad you enjoyed the Michael G. piece - it was a fun conversation that neither of us realised had gone over the alloted time!

Paul

I looked at the issue last nite and totally forgot it was coming out this week. I was hoping Losing the Peace was out but I will wait til friday for sure. Where was the extract at through? I was just glimpsing through real fast.

I'm not Mr. Leisner, but I can cofirm that that is a direct quote from the book.

^ I am Mr. Leisner, and I can confirm JD is not Mr. Leisner.

And my sig is the very first line of the prologue, so don't worry about being spoiled or anything.
