Is it still showing where YOU live?

Yep -- 5 showings plus 1 nighttime IMAX showing today... starting tomorrow until Monday, that increases to 6 showings plus 2 IMAX showings each day!

:bolian:

The theater here in town is run by idiots. Two weeks ago STXI dropped off the board that lists movies and times. And they only run a newspaper ad Friday to Sunday. If you didn't know it was still there, you wouldn't know.

Starting tomorrow (Friday) it goes to just showings a day. One early afternoon and one evening. And it's been just two IMAX showings each week for the last couple of weeks. One very late Friday, and one very late Saturday.

Isn't that amazing? You stop telling people it's still here, and they stop buying tickets!

There are two other theaters sort of in the area showing it. Both 30 minutes away, in different directions.

Nope. It just left this past Monday. From what I saw, it was still packed even on that last day, showing on two screens.

That theater must not run on the profit motive... :p

Oddly enough, no they do not.

The management decisions in this place are always poorly executed. They showed The Simpsons Movie two weeks later than everyone else because they figured the movie wouldn't do well at all. The first day they had Iron Man in the theater, they put both runs in the worst theaters in the cineplex, because they figured since it was a comic book movie, no one would come and see it. I kid you not. They started pre-selling Star Trek tickets only two days before the movie premiered, AND they didn't list the movie as upcoming in the cineplex until 3 days prior to it's premiere.

I just did the search generator for fun, and got 48 theaters in a 50-mile radius.

Yep, still showing. As a matter of fact, it's come *back* to a theater in Santa Monica that pushed it out 2 weeks ago for "Drag Me to Hell." That's now gone & Trek is back.

Heh. :)

All the local theaters PLUS weekend IMAX screenings at 9:40 pm. May actually catch another IMAX show next week.

We have three theaters in Morgantown - the Carmike, the Hollywood, and the Warner.
The first two are first run, the Warner is art-house/second-run/old film revivals.

Last night was Trek's last night at the Carmike (and I went, for my third viewing). As of today it's down to 2 screenings a day at the Hollywood.

Wolverine is currently playing at the Warner, so I suspect Trek will be there before too long.

Is that the AMC theater on the Promenade?

Yes! And it'll get shifted to the theater where tickets are $2.50 ($1 on Wednesday) when it ends it major run.

...As of now its still playing in 2 different theaters and its still going strong (we sold out one show this past weekend!)...
I like this story! Just curious -- in what part of Illinois are you located?

I live in the Chicago area, out in the suburbs.

I hoping we still have it showing on 2 screens this weekend or at least sharing one of the theaters with another film. We'll probably drop down to just one screen once Transformers comes out.

Doggeh, when I looked up theaters earlier today for our zip code, I found the 30 theaters on Diehl Road and figured that must be the one. We've been going to the Randall IMAX in Batavia. That is so cool yours had a sell out.
