Star Trek Crosses $350 Million Worldwide

How come when I google that I get no relevant links at all? Just links of stories about how successful the movie has been?

WHAT DID PARAMOUNT KNOW.

WHEN DID THEY KNOW IT.

Extra precautions had to be taken in each theatre to keep the projectors from overheating from all the flares. Paramount had to pay $10K per site just for fire retardant for the projection rooms. Do you ever wonder why they never released budget numbers? It's because this movie literally broke the bank. Sumner Redstone looked at this film as his final f-you to Paramount. Ruin the studio forever with the modern day Cleopatra. When did you lose track of Zoe Saldana's costume changes? They were so damn expensive they even left a costume change on screen!

Uhhuh.

So why is Paramount saying this film is a huge success? That they are grateful for it?

You do realize the studio was OPEN about Cleopatra losing money right?

And again, do you have a cite for that BS you just said above, any industry source actually to back you up?

Cleopatra was a 20th Century Fox release...interestingly enough, they had to sell most of their backlot because of that film, and that's why that part of LA is called Century City.

That's really cool!

Exactly, if this movie was as big a debacle as folks here are claiming, 650 million for marketing etc etc... Paramount would not be ABLE to hide it.

If this movie was a disaster, people would be talking about it.

Im still waiting for a single cite from one of the conspiracy theorists.

Thanks for your hard work debunking us conspiracy theorists. I hope that you can tell that my tongue can be found in my cheek.

And I was just about to call over to the IMAX to find out about the big fire retardant installation...

You may wish to have your parody-o-meter examined.

Breaking news: Some guy is reporting that Star Trek's marketing budget was 1.4 trillion.

We're doomed. :(

Star Trek's budget was so large that the film is single-handedly financing America's budget deficit this year.

Congress has been asked to bail out Paramount due to the massive flop known as Star Trek. Congress will only comply if all prints of all episodes and movies are shot into space.

So, can you provide a single cite?

For any of this?

Anyone who actually works for film or movie company (in other words, not another crazy diamond like you).
Why should I trust the word of so called "film experts", whose ulterior motives are suspect and unknown to me? Putting aside the $400 million production budget and $700 million marketing budget for one moment, I'm not even certain this film really made as much as $350 million dollars worldwide. I've seen no credible sources. Just websites and reports from places with silly amateur names like "Box Office Mojo" or "Associated Press". It likely made a quarter of that in reality. My theater had three empty seats in the front row against the screen. That was certainly the case in every theater, meaning theaters were under capacity, putting this whole $350 million claim on awfully shaky ground.

Where are the charts to prove these assertions?!?

Now I know what "went wrong". Apparently Star Trek's budget was so vast that it broke the laws of time and space and actually cost more than physically possible. :(
