Though Star Trek's always been cool, it just takes the right packaging for it to be perceived as such by the majority. If nothing else, Star Trek XI is the right packaging.

It seems a turning point has been achieved. I know just enough about Taylor Swift, for example, to know it's a very good sign that pictures of her with Vulcan ears will be be flying around the interwebs for the foreseeable future

Yeah, I gotta go with "It was actually good." I went in expecting a fun but mindless action film and came out realizing that I had gotten a fun action film with some wonderful characters and a nice plot.

It made me realize that you could do the fast-paced "thrill ride" approach to a movie without it being completely brain-dead, it just took the right director. It makes me wonder if maybe this will be a growing trend in Hollywood not just limited to action films.
