Us Trekkies don't have to be cool though, right? I'd have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe and a new car, and I just don't have the time to commit to being a Trekkie if we have to be cool.

Wait long enough, and your default mode of dressing will become the latest hipster fashion statement.

I hope not, I hate when something I like becomes cool.
For an experiment, someone (not me) should throw on a Vulcan Science Academy sweatshirt and stroll on into a sports bar.
That should prove to be fairly decisive.

I think what George Lucas did with his prequels had something to do with Star Wars being knocked down a few pegs (even though it's still a money-making machine).
