Ghostbusters: We're Finally Ready to Believe You

Does this game ever end or is it just one continuous level? It doesn't help that you have no idea where the save checkpoints are.

The checkpoints just seem to be the last time you loaded.

What do you mean "does this game ever end"? It's not that long of a game.

This game is what I've been searching for all my life. I feel ... complete. I want to bear its children.

Pretty much. The actual feel of hanging out with the Ghostbusters is amazing.

Ghost slamming, capping and trapping is exactly as I'd hoped!

The story truly seems to continue from GBI and GBII, and actually ties the two stories together seamlessly, somehow. This is great... if and when the next GB movie comes out, I will consider it GBIV.

My only gripe is that it is a wee bit too short, which would have been nice if there were a sandbox component. Although I am hoping that there will be downloadable content... if so, that's perfect.

Seriously can't wait to play it, been hearing a lot of good things. One of my mates is importing it so I'm *hoping* he'll find the KINDNESS IN HIS HEART to give me a loan.

The massive cock.

Instead of leaving it up to internet Matlocks, we asked Terminal Reality to comment on the controversy. A spokesperson for the developer told us, "For the record, the PS3 version [of Ghostbusters] is softer due to the 'quincunx' antialiasing filter and the fact we render at about 75% the resolution of the 360 version. So you cannot directly compare a screen shot of one to the other unless you scale them properly. The PS3 does have less available RAM than the 360 – but we managed to squeeze 3 out of 4 textures as full size on the PS3."
So: is the PS3 "maxed out"? Or is Terminal Reality's engine – despite comments to the contrary – just not up to snuff on the PS3? With most recent multiplatform titles performing comparably, if not identically, on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, we'd be inclined to agree with Mr. Leadbetter: it's like "time-warping back to the dawn of PS3 development" when PS3 games were routinely outperformed by their Xbox 360 counterparts. Let's hope the irony of the situation is lost on Ghostbusters' exclusive European publisher ... Sony. As well as the franchise's owner ... Sony Pictures.

Hm...

the fact we render at about 75% the resolution of the 360 version

So... straight from the dev's mouth, they're rendering at an inferior resolution despite all their nonsense about the supposed concessions they had to make due it being multiplatform, and how lovely and wonderful Sony's hardware is.

I believe this is a combination of... shit devs, hardware that's famously difficult to code for AND pressure from the license holder on the dev to talk up their affiliated platform.

you cannot directly compare a screen shot of one to the other unless you scale them properly

Oh bull. You look at them both, you compare them.

Mark Randell must be in a corner somewhere at Terminal Reality with a big dunce hat on and tape round his mouth as the rest of the team pelt him with rotten fruit.

Hype, its a killer.

^^I thought he was talking about Star trek Pinball.

And on that note..."Who ya Gonna call.......Ghostbusters".....

A nine page thread and a obvious classic 80s catchphrase has not been mentioned in either pun or sarcastic fashion.......criminal, truly criminal....whats the world coming too.

so...graphic issues aside, is the game fun? I am debating whether or not to pick this up for PS2.

It's a bizarre thread, intended to bring about the end of the world, and now it looks like it might actually happen.

.

Trust me, you haven't seen crappy development units until you've seen what we have to use for the Wii. My lord, the IDE is horrendous, and serial/usb ports for communicating over debug channels is like working in the late 90s.

The PS3 isn't that difficult of a development platform if you've got a good central tech group who establish key quality multiplatform packages for use by game teams (speaking from experience here...)

Next Monday, I am grabbing a bunch of friends, we're watching 1&2 and then starting up the game. Should be an epic day.

I finished it a few hours ago.
The replay value is good... although I'm a huge Ghosthead. Although there are only 7 levels, there are plenty of entry points so you can pinpoint which ghosts you'd like to cap and trap directly in case you don't want to bother with the story...

Anybody stuck on anything?? There are some WTF spots.

Well since I don't own a PS3 or Xbox360 I intend to play this on the PC when it comes out over here. So I'll let you lot know what I think sometime in late November, if Amazon is to be believed!

I just picked this up and started playing it -after updating my PS3- lots of fun, great voice work. :) This is the perfect Ghostbusters game. (I would say the "best" but comparitively speaking that wouldn't be saying much. ;))
