I thought the nuEnteprise was first flown in 2255...
Nope, 2258. In 2255 it was still under construction.

Alternate reality. Chekov is a different age in this timeline. Then what in the hell was Chekov doing aboard the Enterprise as a 17 year-old officer, when he was 13 years old in 2258?
This is your answer? This is it?Kirk's age and birth year had remained the same.
In other words, the screenwriters created a blooper, like they did with Chekov in "WRATH OF KHAN" and like the TREK producers, you refuse to acknowledge this. Thank you for your answers.
I'm pretty sure that an episode of Voyager said that Kirk's five year mission was from 2265 to 2270.
Well considering to this day no one really is in agreement for the years of the 5 year mission, I have no issues just looking at it as a goof.

And the episode was "Q2".

No. Even in the original, unchanged timeline we all knew until this new movie it was launched in 2245.
To me, it really does help to think that this was an alternate universe from the very beginning and that the destruction of the Kelvin simply altered things even further from the Prime Universe. IMO, that idea covers pretty much any and all changes with the characters, technology, dates, etc...
Not all differences have an in-universe explanation (or require one.) I'm inclined to think stardates are one of those which do not.To me, it really does help to think that this was an alternate universe from the very beginning and that the destruction of the Kelvin simply altered things even further from the Prime Universe. My thinking as well.
When Nero asked Robeau What stardate it was and Robeau answered 2233.04, Nero should have said What kind of Stardate is that?! I must be in an alternate universe.
