Is flying the us flag pc ?

The only reason that the ideological fashionistas consider it Politically Incorrect...

That's pretty much a fantasy. You can't walk a block most anywhere in America without seeing several American flags displayed in one way or another, so the whole question of it being "PC" or "not PC" is moot and nothing but someone's talking point.

today is june 14 flag day will you fly the flag today? i will ! is it pc to do this anymore i not care love to hear your feedback love dr;)

PC? Who cares if it's PC?

I fly an American flag every day of the year so I will be flying one today.

Nice topic.

My mother flies an American flag, me personally I refuse too.

1) Being in a mix nationality marriage, I find it insulting to my wife's family to fly a US flag and not a Canadian one as well-- and yes, comments were made.

2) Considering that I'm planning on giving up US citizenship in the next half-decade, I see it as a bit hypocritical.

People disgusted with blind patriotism become blind anti-patriots, then to these anti-patriots the U.S. flag becomes A PERSONAL COMPUTER.

Wait, that didn't turn out write. :shifty:

I need to replace my flag as it's a bit tattered and faded, but I flew an American flag on my balcony, here in Toronto, for years. I'm likely going to apply for Canadian citizenship later this year, and have dual, but I know where my patriotic heart lies.

I want to try to find a replacement flag before Independence Day.

We don't fly a U.S. flag around here for two reasons:

1) It's an apartment complex.
2) We would probably get shot at.

Ever been to Devon?

:guffaw: Yes. I live here!

A lot of the smaller towns there fly both national flags and the Devon flag with a surprising regularity, given the British aversion to flag-flying in general.

This is very true, actually. Six months or so ago there was a controversial moment when Devon County Council were told that it's illegal to fly anything other than the Union Flag on government buildings. I don't know whether or not that persuaded them to take down the Devon flag.

There must not be such a law down here in Tasmania. I have seen government buildings flying the following flags here

1) The Australian Flag
2) The Tasmanian Flag
3) The Aboriginal Flag

and down in Salamanca Place the Dutch flag flies over government land - fluttering, along with the Australian flag, over the monument to Dutchman Abel Tasman.

^ Well, to be fair, I might not have got my facts correct on the Union flag part - it might be any "official" flag that can be flown - England, Welsh, Saltire etc. It's just that the Devon flag isn't an "official" flag (outside of Devon!)

Actually, it's a total error - not on your part, I hasten to add, but on those who tell councils this. It has flared up repeatedly across the country, fuelled by "ZOMG OUR NASHNUL IDENTITY!" stuff in the Fail and so it doesn't surprise me that many people even in authority believe it to be true. But I'd love to see the actual legislation that says it is prohibited to fly anything other than the Union Flag from a government building.

The Brits aren't great flag-flyers. But, I did enjoy seeing all the England flags being fluttered during the last World Cup. Everywhere you looked there were England flags.

Flags are for sporting events I own a HUGE one big enough to go around my sofa ;). I will never get this American flag fetish
