While I loved the movie, there are a few points that really bug me. Maybe I missed something. Any help clearing these up would be appreciated:
1. During the fight sequence on the drilling rig (just after the space jump), why doesn't Sulu have a phaser? I saw Kirk lose his.
2. When Spock learns he has only minutes to get down to Vulcan and save the elders, why does he go on and on talking to Uhura when he enters what I think is the turbolift? If he had saved these precious seconds Amanda might have lived. It would have been more dramatic to have the doors close between him and Uhura before he has a chance to tell her where he is going, and the conversation could have been continued via intercom in the turbolift or via communicators.
3. When Chekov rushes to the transporter room ("I can do that! I can do that!) he exits the bridge to his right (when facing the viewscreen.) When Spock rushes down to Vulcan, he exits the bridge to the left. These seems odd to me but possibly the transporter room is more or less directly behind the brdige so it doesn't matter which way you exit.
4. What happended to Spock after his discussion with Uhura (point 2 above.) It takes him a very long time to get to the transporter room.
