Ladies... * * Kirk or Spock? * * Who is sexier?

*cough* Don't ask how I know this *cough* But I think my favorite part of the whole movie is starting at the 17 minute mark when Spock goes into the Vulcan counsel, through the bar scene, through the K. Maru scene. All good stuff. That's the only exact time in the movie that I know of.

Well, I would just like to say that, even though, yes, I'm old enough to be Chris's mother, I've never had any kids; so technically, technically, I'm still a virgin, and it's ok to have a big infatuation over him.

indranee, if the concession stand isn't too busy, it should be enough time.

While I am not yet old enough to be the mom of anyone of legal age (well, without REALLY stretching it), I was more than happy to enjoy looking at men older than my dad, and I'm sure one day I'll be more than happy to enjoy looking at men younger than my children.

all except for once with dragging others along.
including herding ten of my friends to one showing.

and one friend has already said they want to go back so i need to keep an eye on when it looks like it will leave and go see it with her and possibly some others then.

That's probably why I love that scene so much Not that I don't like Kirk but Spock looks fantastic when he's being violent.
Hmmm, I'm probably twisted. Oh well...

And, er, I always got a weee case of the giggles when Bones and Spock talk about their stallion.

yeah, I get the feeling though that Quinto almost blew it. it seemed like one of those "many takes" kinda deals.

Quinto has a bit of mischief in his eyes in this bit and it only adds to my own case of the giggles

Ria's pictures of Bill are about the best looking I've ever seen. He looks very fetching indeed in those.

Yay to the TrekCore HD TOS screencaps. And as you know, Bill gets a lot of exposure on the show, lots of close-ups. I only went through half an episode and I have more than 3 very postable caps.

miniglik- I just looked up Trekfest at Riverside Ia, (pop. approx 1000). It looks like this is its 25th year anniversary and Koenig, Takei, and Nichols are all going to be there, June 26th and 27th. This looks like the first time they've had any of the main cast there other than Grace Lee Whitney. Riverside is near Iowa City. I've never really been over on that side of the state, I'm from the southwest corner.

I'm thinking my husband, mom, and I might head out for it. I haven't done any fan stuff like that since I was a kid and went to a couple of conventions in Omaha. This new movie made me "come out" to my husband about how big of a nerd I was. I remember seeing the movie the first time- saw Riverside and the port and thought to myself "That town is going to be thrilled!"

Spock for sure! His eyes are so pretty, but so far as personality goes I'd still pick TOS Spock first
Kirk was a little bit too reminiscent of a frat boy, and I just graduated college last month so I'm not ready to be seeing that!

Inspired by Jeri's voting in the Gaila/Uhura thread, I'm casting my vote here. I think I can see why women would vote for Nimoy Spock over Shatner Kirk, and would probably agree if I swung that way, but I don't see the same kind of qualities having completely transferred over to Quinto and Pine.

They both nail their characters, but I guess I'd have to cast a vote for Pine as Kirk.

I don't think Spock is better, but I do understand why he would appeal to other women:

he's got emotions under the surface that he doesn't easily show, so he's got that mystery to him
when you break through his calm exterior, he can be rather fiery
he loves his mama fiercely
he's intelligent and capable
he was a cute kid who, again, loves his mama
he beat up kirk because, again, he loves his mama
he has a cool girlfriend, who he seems to appreciate
the actor is a good looking man, under all the makeup

thanks for your input - although I suspect those do make me think he IS better
