Best Tingly Moments

The first time I saw Spock's casket on Genesis at the end of TWOK, and Leonard Nimoy's end narration.

There might be one in Enterprise when T'Pol kisses Sim, Tucker's clone, before he's due to sacrifice himself. And Tucker never knows. Plus before that, when he says, "What drives me crazy is I don't know if those feelings are his or mine."

I was always surprised when they showed Remmick getting blown apart, it just seemed so Scanners.

What are some of your favorite "Tingly Moments" from Trek? When it was either so emotional, so outrageously cool, or remarkably satisfying.

End of Call to Arms when the Defiant and the Rotaran meet up with the largest fleet we'd ever seen in trek up until that point. the music swells and you know they are going Dominion hunting.

You've bet me to it. That IMO is one of the greatest moments in Trek. To see them suddenly flying towards the largest armada of Federation starships ever seen on Trek was awesome.

Most tingly moment that comes to memory is:

Computer...erase that entire personal log.

I was in awe of the sheer greatness of that moment...and still am to this day, many years later.

I will say that of the three times I have seen Star Trek, I get choked up every time Spock does the final narration.

There are many many more times I get those 'tingly' feelings whether they are happy or sad, or 'holy sh*t' moments. Just too many to name:lol:

TWOK of course. The death of Spock and the funeral.

"I have and always shall be, your friend."
"Of all the souls I have met in my travels, his was the most...human."

If those two moments don't affect you, then you are dead.

You know that second line always bothered me. Although in today's world we can use it metaphorically to refer to someone's heart in the 23rd century it would seem to be a very speciesist kind of line that no one would say. It was like Kirk was putting down his Vulcan side.

  • The scene in BOBW 1 when the cube is first sighted—barely visible—then the Ron Jones "Borg music" pounding as magnification is ordered.
  • The rocket launch scene from "The Inner Light".
  • The actual First Contact scene from, well, First Contact.
  • Marritza's "Kill Bajoran scum" speech in "Duet".
  • Garek's "I'd call that a bargain" speech in ITPM.

The final scene in Voyager Real Life with the Doctor and his family....I have a daughter roughly the same age as Belle and the scene really choked me up...

I prefer exciting farts. Like, a really big one during a staff meeting, right after the boss has made an important point.

Of course, Spock's death scene in Wrath of Khan.

Picard's 'Ahab' scene with Lily in First Contact.

TNG third season's episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" during the final battle after Riker's death when the Klingons announce prepare to be boarded and Picard mutters "that will be the day" leaping over the console to take over tactical himself.

TNG third season's episode "The Defector" the stand off between Picard and Tomalak culminating with the Klingon bird's of Prey decloaking.

The little shipper-girl in me absolutely loves the scene where Robin Hood rescues Maid Marion from the tower in TNG fourth season episode "Qpid." Patrick Stewart's Picard doing Errol Flynn's Robin Hood. You hear the guards outside the door being dispatched just before Picard flings the heavy door aside. "Jean-Luc," Vash sighs as they make their way across the room to each other. In one hand Picard holds his bloodied broadsword while with his free hand he sweeps Vash up into his arms for a passionate kiss lifting her off the ground slightly. That is just classic swashbuckling! :adore: :luvlove:

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie

Picard in Best of Both Worlds:
"Let's make sure history never forgets the name... Enterprise."

Picard in Best of Both Worlds:
"Let's make sure history never forgets the name... Enterprise."

That line (which is a damn good tingly line :techman:) is not from 'The Best of Both Worlds.' It comes from Picard's ship-wide announcement in "Yesterday's Enterprise" just before the final battle with the Klingons.

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie
