Um, why is the solid episode Fury included among Voyager's worst, but not Endgame? I can understand if Kes fans disliked Fury, but a lot viewers found it a very entertaining and interesting episode, packed with action, drama, mystery and exciting scenes. By the same token, you should have included the universally hated Endshame in your poll; by far the worst episode of the series, at least from many fans opinion.
And thing is, I have no real personal issues with The game or even Threshold as being part of trek (though Threshold does suck immensely). If an episode is crap, I just don't watch it and that's that. But Endgame is different, since it's the series finale, and because it so utterly ruins the character Janeway, cheats us with a badly thrown together story of time travel, reset buttons and gimmicks, as well as giving us an ending that isn't really an ending at all. To give you some examples:
What happened to the half of the crew - the maquis - who were traitors and war criminals? Were they sentenced to a penal colony for 20-30 years, or were some of them pardoned?
What happened to the (villain of starfleet) BORG 7 of 9 when starfleet got their hands on her? Did they hold her captive, pick her apart, and do experiments on her...? Or were she given limited or even complete freedom?
What happened to the starfleet property the holographic EMH doctor? Remember in an earlier episode when they said that holograms wasn't considered as individuals by the federation. Was he given individual rights, or did he end up slaving in the dilithium mines?
And what the hell happened to Janeway/Chakotay?
Or for that matter to Seven/The doctor that had been building for a long time? The Chakotay/Seven pairing was such a huge slap in the face to many Voyager viewers that it's by far most disliked romance in all of star trek.
And where is Libby - Harry Kim's earthbound girlfriend - in the finale?
And then what happened with their lives on earth after they got back home, something that we'd been waiting to see for seven long years?
Thing is, there are just so many threads unresolved and questions left unanswered by the end that are so important to this series, and there's so much crapola, and plot-holes that a borg cube could drive through. There are so many missed opportunities, unresolved questions, and a huge dissapointing anti-climax at the end. And finally, Endshame alters the continuity of star trek for no reason at all except as a way of faking together a semi-dramatic moment devoid of any plot logic or characterisation that we recognize from the past 7 years. For these very reasons and more, I will never even consider Endgame as part of my personal canon.
