If Mc Coy is a figment of his imagination, I'm shutting down my computer and never coming in here again.

just a couple of odd notes..
tos has at least two ice planets is not more.

i like prime uhura but she very much was a very spirited person at times.
    ;)

chekov prime was a science geek.. movie chekov was a science geek.
at least movie chekov didnt claim russians invented everything .

    ;)

ah how could elder spock be an hallucination if there was a ship that recognized
    younger spock.

as you yourself pointed out elder spocks interaction with kirk and scotty throws a wrench into the matter.
    ;)

as does the idea that spock prime helped to find a new world for the vulcan refugees.
that would take interacting with a whole lot of people.

kirk in whatever reality is good at breaking things..
    a car in this movie..
lots and lots of compturs for prime kirk as well as another star ship.
    ;)

Or....maybe everything in the movie was just a product of Mc Coy's 3 day bender.

Wait...the whole PRIME timeline is just an ice planet dream???? That's a bit of a let down. Although, it would eliminate all the lengthy timeline threads.... I'm becoming a bit faint...

"It was all a dream" is the absolute worst ending. I'll take the reset button any day.

I think the OP must have had a few supersized drinks during this film and passed out from bladder pain and this post was the result.

No, any self-respecting English major would do two things:

    1) Remember to hyphenate "self-respecting" and,

    2) Regard this film as you would two different productions of "Hamlet" or "Romeo and Juliet" --- different actors, different sets, and different tone all because this is a different production with a different interpretation. Do you get all bent out of shape when you see two different productions of "Hamlet"?

Ever notice posters who preface their inane ramblings with "I am an expert in [field of study]" almost always show no actual acumen in said discipline?

Well, any time you do that you're pretty much jinxing yourself. And since most people equate English major with grammar major or book reviewer, you really can't win.

Umm... it's not only an alternate reality, but these are also younger and more immature characters than we've seen in the TV series and especially the movies that you mention.

Oh, and they're different actors too. Of course there will be differences. To expect otherwise is unreasonable, IMO.
