Full Circle Review Thread (Spoilers)

I'm going to add just one thing...Janeway is seen going off with a Q in Before Dishonor.

The last person we "saw" doing this was Vash...and she's clearly not dead.

Margaret

Are you by any chance the Margaret Clark who would know if a resurrection is in store?

That is Margaret Clark the editor of Star Trek books, yes. (unless her account was hacked or something...)

Not quite the same thing, since Vash was a live woman who merely chose to travel with Q through the physical universe, while Janeway, when last we saw her, was a dead woman whose disembodied essence, consciousness, spirit, katra, whatever had been preserved by Lady Q. So bringing Vash back was simply a matter of dropping her off somewhere, while bringing Janeway back would entail a full-on resurrection. That is theoretically within the Q's powers, but presumably it's not as casual a thing.
but was janeway's body truly destoyed during the destruction of the cube or could it have been removed by Q before it ka-blooey?

i honestly don't remember if that is feasible or not.

Her body had been badly compromised by Borg technology well before then, and the epilogue made it pretty clear that Janeway was no longer a living corporeal being but was beginning a journey to another phase of existence. Though presumably the Q have the power to reverse that if they had a reason.

I speak as one of many huge fans of Janeway.

Margaret, if that's a hint at a possible resurrection, a lot of people would be very very happy indeed.

I would start buying the books again brand new to once again support Pocket books if Janeway was brought back.

but not just that, I realise my drop in the ocean may not make much difference (although a few others I know feel the same) it would restore my faith in the TPTB a little bit.

Just wanted to balance things a little bit after the couple of negative posts immediately after Margaret's! As anyone who has even dipped a toe into the debates on here can attest, (and I hope not to turn this thread which is meant to be about Full Circle into one, and yes I have read it I got it secondhand and it was a struggle it was too sad) there are plenty of us out here who would love to see Janeway back.

^^^ Seconded. Pocket has many authors who are more than competent and who would do the task justice. If you can suspend your belief sufficient to buy the Great Brid of the Galaxy hatching out of a planet another Trek resurrection is well within what seems possible in the TrekVerse.

I don't see any reason, that she can't be brought back, in fact I have a very good idea on how it could work, I'd be glad to give it to Margaret Clark for free just to get Janeway back.

I finished Full Circle a week or so ago and I can't really put a full review as my notes on the book arn't here.

Anyway, the main thing, apart from being a bloody good read I took away the book was that it really couldn't have happened with Kathyrn Janeway still being alive.

She passionately stone walled Full Circles mission on two occasions and even went to the cube in Before Dishonour to prevent it from happening. Now, even without her death and even with the Borg Invasion of 2381, I can't see Voyager being part of Full Circle.

Just a question, in Destiny, Aventine is comparable in size to Enterprise, yet Eden was only dealing with 600 crew assignments, now, even with a ship crewed full of Holograms, this number seemed a little small as two Vesta class vessels were part of the fleet. Also, I can't remember if it were mentioned here or in the book, but it was also said that all the ships in the fleet were as large or smaller than Voyager which seems a little implausible given the Vesta's size and that Intrepid class vessels are pretty small.

Also, although the book had many highlights, I got a genuine chill down my spine towards the end and Full Circles mission brief was being explained and having all six starships in one slip stream tunnel would be cool and would make a great image for Ships of the Line for 2011 if not in 2010.

I suppose after the Destiny events, crew sizes would be small, and even with the small armada, they would want to limit the number of people going to the DQ, just in case...either that or its a typo!

I was thinking that myself actually - the fact that the Borg had taken a little trip into Alpha Quadrant which resulted in a fair few deaths. But still, eight starships, including two large vessels, 600 does seem a little small. But then again, the support ships may not need a huge crew.

Oh, although going in I knew Hugh Cambridge was based on Gregory House, I thought he was pretty damn cool and Chakotay's second "first" meeting with him after their compentcy session brought a massive smile to my face.

I wasn't planning on reading Full Circle or Unworthy, but if I know there will be a light at the end of this tunnel that will certainly change!:techman:

Oh, yessss! I'm thinking Janeway's return (if it happens) will be truly glorious! I doubt that the condition of her "previous" body will be much of a problem for Q.

Can't wait to spend my coin on a few Voyager books in the future!

I am now imagining the Q using Janeway as a giant Barbie.

Thanks, Auntie.
*lol*

Well I'm sure the wardrobe would be fabulous! ;)

Even if she doesn't get to keep the clothes when leaving the Q it would be great to see her back. I'd even make it a point to go buy "Full Circle" (which I've only flipped through in the bookstore before buying other books), "Unworthy" and any other Voyager books if that were to happen. Heck, I may even need to start reading TOS books again. :)

So Janeway's been abandoned in the Gamma Q? How mean!

Though Vash wasn't taken from an exploding Borg ship after been turned into a Borg Queen...but I'm not going to split hairs :)

Sounds like good news to me. IF she went with Q, anything and all things are possible.

Who said she's been abandoned in the Gamma Quadrant? I assume the Q can simply restore her to the timeline whenever and wherever they want!
