NBA Playoffs - 2009

I'm not saying it wasn't a good shot. My point is a three like that hardly puts Lebron up there with Micheal just like that. Hitting a game winning shot is good, but it's been done before by a lot of different players.

I agree. It reminds me of that playoff game a couple of years ago when LeBron scored 48. The way the media and many fans reacted you'd have thought it was the first time a player had ever scored 48 points in a playoff game. It seems that TNT, ESPN, and ABC, are so anxious to make LeBron "The Man", that his every accomplishment, even the relatively routine, is made to look like something otherwordly. Its actually pretty funny to watch.

Nice game by the Lakers tonight, stealing back HCA from the Nuggs. Great defense. Held the best offense in the NBA to 39% shooting (at home) and made Melo, who had been on a rip, look quite human. Now, Kobe never has 2 bad games in a row. We'll see where Melo is at on Monday. The Lakers, who must have set a record this season, stopped another streak. The Nuggs had won 16 in a row at the Pepsie Center before tonight.

Its more like Kobe's 3 pointer in Game 2 of the 2004 Finals. Completely ineffectual, only useful in avoiding a sweep

orlando's mental toughness is just phenomenal. They look so poised they never quit, are just so resiliant.

Orlando has really impressed me this post-season. Everyone talked about how Cleveland blew people out, but Orlando won games by grinding them out. Thats far more impressive.

It's looking more and more like a Nuggets-Magic final. Who saw that one coming? You think they'll still play those Kobe/Lebron commercials with neither of them still playing?

Nuggets-Magic is what I've been rooting for with these conference finals series.

The problem is the Cavs have one guy who can score. The Magic have Howard in the post and a bunch of long range shooters - Lewis, Alston, Turkoglu, etc. If they double Howard, it leaves a guy open. If they play it straight, Howard vs. Big Z is a mismatch.

I hope the Nuggets pull it out. I admit, a Kobe/Lebron final would have been excellent, but I think a Magic/Nuggets final could be just as good, and it features teams that wouldn't normally be featured that much during the season.

It's not like a Denver-Orlando matchup is devoid of superstars. Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard are both big names. And both Denver and Olrando can score. It would definitely be an interesting matchup.

It would be a great matchup, but compared to Kobe- LeBron, it's not the same and probably wouldn't draw as well.

Here's one more from Drew. He's now publishing 'toons on two sites

^ Magic are on tonight with a chance to close it out at home. You'll get your chance to watch them soon.

Go Magic. The Cavs bore the hell out of me, they're such a one man team.

Missed it by that much!

Last night was the Lakers' best game of the playoffs. A complete game from start to finish. Very nice.

:techman:

Let's see a cartoon of THAT!!!

:)
Most appropriate.

I thought George Karl's pregame comments to his players in the lockeroom amounted to "loser talk". He told them to b happy with where they were, told them to have fun. Have fun? Did he understand that the goal is the NBA championship? My guess would be, no. It seemd that when his team came up against a Laker team that had brought it's "A" game, instead of fighting back, they laid down like dogs.

The Nuggs' game 4 win was blown way out of proportion as it owed more to the Lakers' failure to compete than Nuggets superiority.

And what the frack was it with Karl complaining about fouls after game 5? He and his team readily admited to liking the Mavs' fans calling them "Thuggets. When you play physically, many times you foul more. Karl can be such an idiot.

When I say "Lakers", you say "GO"! 4 more, baby, 4 more!

After enjoying these playoffs quite a bit, this final Cavs/Magic game is pretty disappointing, I wish it had been closer.
