Will Lucas do final Star Wars movies because of Trek popularity?

No, I don't think he will. I seriously doubt we'll get a Star Wars VII while George is still alive. It is possible he might allow another animated film or maybe if the live tv series does well a movie based on that, but as for continuing the specific tale told through SWI-VI, no.

I cant stand Lucas. He is an ass. I remember when SW first came out and how he talked about there being 9 movies in the saga. Now he decided to stop at 6. This guy is a total loser, especially when he decided not to make the final three.

Very true. I can never understood him. With him being so such show-off when he was young lad, I was very upset that he decided not to make the final three.:wtf: Perhaps, Star Wars will be in such good hands with us telling brand NEW storyline to tell each of the generations.

To be honest with you, I'm getting tired of same old story all over again and again. It's time for new star wars! Who's with me???

Retake the crown? What crown?
Exactly.;)
I'm more curious if the live action TV series will ever happen.
My money would be on, NEVER!:p

He's doing YOU and everyone a FAVOR by NOT making more Star Wars movies! Would you really want more of the Jar-Jar/Ewok show?

Not me. I'll pass.

Movie wise, the STAR WARS saga is perfect as it is. And I'm not that fond of the novels that followed RETURN OF THE JEDI.

And quite frankly, Lucas did a hell of a better job with those six movies than Roddenberry or Berman did with the TREK franchise. At least in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind. It was a hell of a lot better than the TREK movies . . . and I'm including the latest one.

I would not mind him doing the three movies. If he does, I will put on my (new, will have to buy a new one, old one is far too small) starfleet uniform and go to the movies again. I have many times decided not to go to the movies anymore but I went to see last SW and the Trek. I knew beforehand that I would not like them but went anyway.
Hopefully he would get someone direct them in the fashion of IV and V, and not the dull matrix-like fighting there was in III.
Or he maybe could get someone do a children's movie-like version of them. Real children's movie like The Last Starfighter.

Na, Trek will make 250m maximum which is about 100m short of Ep III not even counting international take. It might be better than all of the PT combined, but he'll judge it by BO.

My honest hope is that Lucas doesn't do them. That someday, either his kids do them, or the rights get sold. Something else.

Some things are best under their creators. Others need to move on.

Terminator, for example. I enjoyed TSCC, Salvation. Not so much on T3. But under Cameron, the first two films where fantastic.

Trek, though... Roddenberry did great for the series, but he couldn't do films as well. And he set a great thing up with TNG, but it hit it's stride as he stepped back do to health.

Wars is, I feel, along the same path. It will do better again after George Lucas isn't calling the shots.

For one man to have that much control over a property is... too much, IMHO. He's not answerable to anyone. Absolute power corrupts, even creative vision. No one will be honest and tell him "this sucks" and anyone who does isn't a peer who he'll listen to but a fan who "doesn't understand" his "vision" or some such.

You've lost your ever-loving mind.

RotJ and the first two prequels were HORRIBLE. Horrible little kiddie-fests designed to sell toys -- and toys of ANNOYING as hell characters at that!

At least Star Trek movies are made for adults. No way are the Star Wars films better -- with regard to character and storytelling anyway. Lucas has had the advantage only in that he's able to pour more money into the production values.

Until the Abram's Trek -- which certainly blew away any of the Star Wars prequels.

My opinion of course...
