^I have a bad feeling it'll only be in flashback. There's something telling that Jacob never vistited her in her childhood flashback...

Nice! :techman:

But why would that be such a bad thing? I think it would cheapen the impact of her death on James if she would survive the Incident. Her death scene was great! Having her come back would be a bit undramatic. But to me seeing her in flashbacks is really a win-win scenario, because we can keep the actress despite her character's death.

Question: This is probably a long shot, but got any Lost scoop? --Jeff

Ausiello: Yeah, having Lost scoop in late May is about as unlikely as me combing through my old transcripts and finding an unused Damon Lindelof quote pertaining to the show's series finale. OMG, looky here: "We’ve been planning out the final season for four years now. And of all the talks we have had about the show, [reuniting all the castaways] is the subject that has come up the most. The ending was almost where we began, and we had to figure out how to get there. It's like a wedding where the reception is the part that requires the most planning and is the most fun to plan. We've exchanged our vows and I am ready to go party."

Question: Realistically, how many episodes of Lost do you think Elizabeth Mitchell will be in next year? --Derek

Ausiello: My gut is telling me we'll see her in two episodes max. But my gut has been wrong before. Oh, who am I kidding, no it hasn't.

Hey, it's something!

Cuse: Here’s another thing you can clear up, Damon.

Damon: Yeah!

Cuse: This is from “Faciana Aa..ave…” (Cuse tries to pronounce name

Damon: Don’t even bother.

Cuse: I won’t.

Cuse: reading question from Faciana Aave“I recently posted a topic in the plot forum regarding something I read stating that either Damon or Carlton had said there was a vital clue in the Pilot episode. It turns out this topic has come up several times but no one can ever cite the source and now I’m asking definitively did we all miss something groundbreaking in the Pilot? If not, have we at one time missed something that has since been discovered? It would be awesome if you guys could clear this up”

Damon: A plot, a mystery in the Pilot?

Cuse: Yes, something…I think this is actually, this must be a false rumor. I don’t – I honestly don’t think that there’s anything in the Pilot that we haven’t addressed that isn’t obvious to viewers of the show. There is no sort of embedded, secret coded, undiscovered clue in the Pilot that has not yet been unearthed.

Damon: Yeah, kinda going down the list of the Pilot mysteries that are presented --- with the exception of Charlie saying “Guys where are we?” I think pretty much, you know, you’ve seen what moved the trees, and you know what Locke’s secret was, and you know what the source of the French transmission at the end of the episode was. You know what Kate did, you know what Sawyer’s letter says.

Cuse: And even if it’s a bit of an extrapolation, we know that the Alcatraz island was a zoology station and Sawyer was locked in a polar bear cage, so you at least know that the Dharma Initiative was doing polar bear research and the polar bears probably escaped at some point and swam across the channel and got on the island, so you even know really the source of the polar bears if not the specific nature of the polar bear research that the Dharma Initiative was doing. Right?

Damon: Right.

Cuse: Okay, that’s one mystery down. We actually answered, I just wanted one question that was actually gonna---

Damon: Make people feel some sense of definitive conclusion.

Cuse: Yes, exactly.
.

In a 24 thread here someone reported that Doug Hutchinson is going to be a regular on 24 this coming season... which to me shows that we will NOT be seeing anymore 1970s Dharma in the final season, or at least, no more Horace Goodspeed.

Lost masterminds Carlton Cuse and Damen Lindelof dop hints about how ABC hit drama will end

Jun 2 2009

Lost masterminds Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have been dropping hints about how the show will end next spring.

Among the mysteries unravelled in the very last episode will be the significance of the four-toed statue, what the Smoke Monster really is and who the skeletons in the cave were.

(We reckon Egyptian fertility goddess Taweret, conscience and Penny & Desmond respectively, for what it's worth!)

Says Cuse: "The end of the show will be a combination of trying to answer mysteries the audience still cares about, such as the statue and the Smoke Monster.

"We'll also be answering the skeletons in the cave question. We will answer the questions we feel are important and central to the plot.

"At the same time we will be trying to tell redemption stories about the characters. These characters do indeed have a destiny.

Characters having a destiny? That's pretty much confirmation that John will be back. :techman:

I'm such a Locke fanboy.

It's all the more obvious now that it's Rose and Bernard, though it wouldn't surprise me if it was any other couple from the show, most likely Penny and Desmond or maybe even Sawyer and Juliette. I doubt very much it's Kate and Jack or Sun and Jin. Maybe someone dug up Nicki and Paolo in the past? :D
