First 'V: Visitors' scenes released

Damn you guys take the fun out of every fun-looking show!

He Is The Actual Promo

Now that's more like it! It's the Ori story, but told in a more serious and less shallow way. Morena Baccarin is probably perfectly cast for the same reason that Keanu Reeves is perfect playing stilted aliens. :D

Definitely the most promising new show of the fall season. Nothing else looks more than kinda...okay.

It would be hard for this new one to be anything but an improvement on the snooze fest the original was.

Sad that even Aliens realize that if you lower the zipper to a certain level, you get instant devotion.

Like I said, all the humans in this version are still gullible mor.... heeey, look at her!
Thank goodness the gay population will still be here to see past your hormones. ;)

I remember the publicity in the build-up to the original series. There were posters of various things - advertisements for supermarkets, billboards, etc, with a big red 'V' daubed over them. The subtext was this was what the resistance in Europe used to do during the German occupation in the Second World War. There was never any use of the word 'Visitor' from this publicity. It meant one thing and one thing only.

First mini, great, second mini, good. Series sucked. Like Galactica, the property has enough attention and nostalgia to warrant another visit. But the original has a serious cheese factor associated with it as well that doesn't mean that any readdressing has to be continuation.

Darkwing, are you hear to bitch about another remake before even seeing it?

Looks promising. I will at least give the first ep a shot and judge from there. The effects look cool as well. And Morena...

She flat out said "we came to take your water." And people cheer.

While I agree with you that the cheering was unrealistic, "We came for your water and are going to offer you some of our tech in return" is A LOT different than "We came for your water and will destroy and enslave you in doing so".

No. No. No. No. No. It was We came for your water and will enslave SOME of you and will EAT the rest in doing so.

Except the Ori never had a device that could brain wash people which better be in this version as well as the eating people or I'm walking.

Oh yes, it was such a snooze-fest, with such terrible ratings, that NBC did TWO minis AND a series.
No kidding. I was in the 8th grade then and this was an Uber-event. Everyone was talking about it -- teachers and students, both male and female. The original mini-series was awesome.

I have always had a slight crush on Morena Baccarin so I am definately intrigued. When does this start?

I'm responding to the information that is currently available. There's nothing wrong with that.

I really am liking this the more I see of it, as i said though I will miss the Nazesque feel to the invasion.

Subtle insidious invasions have been done to death in SciFi. There is nothing more terrifying to wake up one day and discover you have been occupied by a overwhelming force of an invading military..one you opened the door for.

To be honest given the lackluster approach of well such a thing isnt relavant these days :P...shows such a thing (not the alien thing the thesis) could easily happen.

This one appears to be about the domination of one faith over others. More of an insidious religion as oppoosed to the oppression of a Nazi like regime.

This time a dominating Theocracy as opposed to a military dictatorship.

If that is the case for the new analogy, that would be neat as well. Fundamentalists are just the same as Nazi like fantics.

This nuV has got me very interested now. If that is the new ananlogy it honors the old show without trying to erase it or outdo it. It is a different take that would be just as chilling.

Can't wait

Vons

It bored the hell out of me, but so does crap like Survivor and American Idol. Both of those shows are far more successful than V ever was. Popularity does not equate to quality.
