When was Nurse Chapel mentioned?

NiteTrek

Captain
During my 3rd viewing of the movie, I specifically watched out for when Nurse Chapel was supposedly mentioned by McCoy, but missed it.

When did it happen?

When McCoy takes Kirk to sickbay and Kirk's hands are swelling up and stuff, right around the time Kirk passes out or wakes up, in there, McCoy runs offscreen saying "Nurse Chapel, get me a..."

I think it's when Kirk wakes up and his hands are blowing up like balloons, right as Kirk goes to the screen to playback Chekov's briefing. I caught it the first time, but missed it the second.

Does this mean there's going to be a catfight between Uhura & Chapel for the affections of Spock in the next movie?

bring the popcorn, especially if Nurse Chapel is either played by Kristen Bell or Elisha Cuthbert

Nurse Chapel does reply back and says something like 'right away' also

i think she did as well as the computer voice on a couple of occasions, just didn't sound like her as she wasn't well at the time

AFAIK, the only time Majel did the computer voice here, was in the scene with Chekov giving his authorization code - and *maybe* the bit with Scotty in the water tube. She was most definitely not the voices of the Kelvin or Jellyfish computers.

Source ?

There's a Youtube link which has a comparison of all of these voices. First Kelvin, then Enterprise, then Jellyfish. The first and third voices are definitely not hers.

Maybe they altered her voice in post production for the Kelvin and Jellyfish computers so as not to appear that all computers have the same voice.

I believe there's no official word on the matter yet.

she says "Yes sir."

it was right after Kirk wakes up in the sickbay.

sure sounded like Majel. maybe they dubbed her voice in from the show? she said it plenty times anyway.

I assumed that the blonde haired nurse that Kirk oogled while McCoy brought him into sickbay was Nurse Chapel...or at least I like to think it is ;) Yeah McCoy asks Chapel for something he needs during that scene and she replies "Yes Sir" as mentioned above.

Oh, believe me, even with all the post-production money can buy, I can still tell that those voices are NOT Majel. Besides, it's much easier to simply hire a new voice actor than to spend all that dough on digitally altering a voice (which usually sounds recognizable anyway, as anyone who's seen the cartoon Transformers movie will know).

IIRC, when Majel's contribution was announced, JJ said that the computer lines were already in the film but, in order for Majel to be a part of the movie, she was asked to redo the Starfleet computer lines. Probably the voice of the Jellyfish computer originally extended to the other computers as well.
