QVC's "Star Trek Universe" show

OMG what a travesty of a show.

Those on-air fools just said that Walter Koenig had passed, when showing the De Kelley autograph and talking about the losses we’ve had. After mentioning Kelley and Doohan, the "trexpert" they had on with the talking head salesidiot added Walter Koenig to the list of the dead. :wtf:

Fools. :cardie:

What a shoddy production. Other screw-ups in this one hour show...

- They showed a medallion with NX-01 on it and said it was the new Enterprise from the film, while gushing about having seen the film and loving it. I guess they didn’t notice that hot-rod starship featured in it.

- The salesidiot kept going on and on about what a long-time fan he is, then when showing some TOS trading cards, he said how the episode “where they went back in time and actually went back to Earth” and met the Nazis was “one of his favorites”. lmao! The trexpert had to correct him on that one.

- Same segment, “Let That Be Your Last Battlefield”. Salesidiot talked about how brave the episode was, to address racism way back in “the early 60’s”.

- Same segment, a card with a pic of Kirk and Uhura playing smooshy-face in “Plato’s Stepchildren”. The salesidiot said he wasn’t sure who the alien woman was. The trexpert had to tell him that was Uhura. :wtf: Then salesidiot tried to cover by saying yeah, “they always had a mad kind of love affair going”.

Those are just the screw-ups off the top of my head. That show was an embarrassment. :alienblush:

Well, QVC has always been a bastion of factual quality, so I'm quite frankly shocked and appalled that they would allow themselves to be associated with such reckless inconsistency to go on.

Well, it's one thing to say "here's a pretty thing, why don't you buy it?", and quite another to say you're an expert on something and spend the hour proving yourself wrong. Even citing an actor's death that has not occurred. :wtf:

I took it as the "expert" problems were because they changed the program guide at the very last second. Like I posted in the TNG forum Michael Dorn was the original guest, but he pulled out at the very last second.

Always thought that network was just a bunch of idiots selling to women who stay at home all day and don't know any better; guess I was right. I bet tons of them just bought that stuff for their kids or husbands "because they like star trek".

^^^ but every idiot$ they spend on the franchise fuels it's continued existence i

:guffaw:Ya, I saw this last night and while watching it I went :wtf:??? I was trying to decide if I wanted to start a thread on this ''travesty'' but it looks like you did it for me!:techman: And I think the WORST offence on that show was the DeForest autograph, that tall BALDing idiot said the photo was from ST2 I went ''you idiot that photo was from ST6!'' I could not belive what I was watching!

I remembered a couple more bits of idiocy.

- They showed a "four captains" print, with Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway, and said that this has all of the captains from all of the series that we know of to date, not including the new movie, of course. Totally forgetting about Enterprise. (Not that some wouldn't love to forget it, lol.)

- Looking at the trading cards, a pic of the Gorn came up. The salesidiot said that was the one where Kirk was trapped on an island with that thing, and they had to work together. :wtf:

I didn't know Dorn was even supposed to be on it. I first heard of it from TrekMovie.com, about four or five days ago, and they said there would be no celebrity guests.

They DARE to leave out ARCHER? BLASPHAMY! :angryrazz:
