When ABC brought Scrubs back from the dead last year, budget cuts were made in the area of reduced cast appearances. So I think that's what's going to happen with Chuck too. Though how much difference will it make since there have always been multi-episode stretches where characters are MIA (Julia Ling, Sarah Lancaster & Ryan McPartlin, Marc Christopher Lawrence...).The end of the agony is nigh. If that means getting rid of some of the HORRID CG work in the first two seasons, bring on the budget cuts.
Hopefully that does not translate to cuts to the core cast, although I think we're headed that way to a degree with the Buy More possibly being phased out.
As it stands right now it sounds like it will be filler because sending a test picture for an hour interrupted by ads just has no style.
