I was rewatching TNG's The Lower Decks tonight, for the first time in a while, and I was struck again by how great a job they did with Sito Jaxa, the Bajoran ensign. Trek's tendency for redshirts has become a fun cliche, so sometimes when the various series want you to take it seriously you can't (though Sito would be more of what TV Tropes called a Mauve Shirt). With Sito, you really feel bad. I particularly liked the scene where Picard tells her "You're with me." and she has this really happy look on her face that The Boss is singling her out (of course, as she soon finds out, not for the reason she'd hoped).

Any other one-shots (Sito was, technically, a reprised part from The First Duty, but she might as well have been new) that really stand out to you?

I saw the TNG ep "A Matter of Time" recently and I was really impressed with Matt Frewer as the time-traveling conman.

Martha Hackett as Sub-Commander T'Rul in DS9 'The Search, Parts One & Two'. She was awesome, and I wish they had been able to keep her around for awhile.

:rommie:

I always liked the Klingon chef on DS9.

And the Romulan cloaking device operator on the Defiant than Sisko had quietly dispatched in the night.

TNG had several. Dr. Selar, Commander Shelby and Robin Lefler come to mind right away. Peter David was nice enough to pick the characters up and make them regulars in his "New Frontier" novel series, but it would have been nice to see them on-screen again. I also thought that the other characters introduced in TNG's "Lower Decks" could have been seen again.

the Vulcan engineer appears in a lot of the novels, particularly the A Time To series and Destiny trilogy.

ENT:
Feezal (Stigma)

TOS:
Romulan Commander (Balance of Terror)

TNG:
Shelby (BoBW)

DS9:
Amin Maritza (Duet)

VOY:
One (Drone)

Michael J Pollard's character on TOS was certainly interesting. He certainly had a varied career in his younger days.

Captain Edward Jellico (TNG, Chain of Command). Nice change of pace starship commander well played by Ronny Cox. Wish we'd seen more of him in the series.

A two shot character I loved was Kevin Riley, from TOS.

I loved Sito (Another two shot), Taurik, and Lavelle from Lower decks.
I didn't mind Lefler, but I find it annoying how she became so popular from a one-shot deal.

Danar, from "The Hunted". Great performance by the actor who played him, and a really fascinating character whose dialogue and interactions with Data, Troi, and Worf were wonderful.
