This one was simply called Star Trek. It was also a reboot. It's also an alternate reality. All is nu (sorry). The next one will just be Star Trek 2, or Star Trek: Whatever Subtitle They Want.

We already refer to the original series as TOS, the '79 movie is called The Motion Picture, which is often abbreviated to TMP. Why do we have to refer to it any differently than what it's called?
