hello im looking for some one to help me lisdt or name the ship classes that have only 1 nacelle or ship clases that have 1 nacelle under the saucer secton and one nacelle above the saucer section as plan on modeling a new ship or kitbashing a new ship and i wanna do a 1 nacelle or 2 nacelle over under kitbash thanks

In the pre-Trek XI universe, there aren't any one-nacelled ships IIRC. The only "over under" nacelled ship classes I can think of is the Constellation class like the Stargazer, the Challenger class, and the Cheyenne class (two on top, two on the bottom).

I think the folks in the Trek Tech section of the board would be able to help out with this question, so I'll move the thread there.

The Freedom class U.S.S. Firebrand appeared as wreckage at Wolf 359 in "Best of Both Worlds." It has only one nacelle, which is of the type seen on the Galaxy-class ships.

Pictures of the one-nacelled Saladin- and Hermes-class ships are barely visible on computer displays in Star Trek II.

Lest the canonistas forget...

The Saladin and Hermes class appear on monitors all over the first few Trek movies. They're from the original Technical Manual, and images of them can easily be found everywhere, but I'll plug www.jaynz.info 's gallery for now.

Also, these ships appeared in storyboards as 'upgraded' like the Enterprise in some behind-the-scenes info for TMP.

The 'upper and over' slug nacelles appear in many of Bethesda's games (notably, the Apollo class) in the movie era.

Come Next Generation, you get the Freedom class, which you can see a schematic of at www.shipschematics.net .

Hope this helps!

IIRC, Mike Okuda also helped to identify the models he built with Greg Jein for BOBW. Thanks to him, almost all of the models seen with any clarity have been identified with class and ship to the entries given in the Encyclopedia.
