I never really liked Star Trek

Hey, just joined to say that I never really liked/ paid much attention to Trek when I was young. I was aware of it, and I have friends who are really into it. But I saw this movie and was blown away. This film has gained at least one new fan for Star Trek
That's what we love to hear.

Welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. You may want to check out some of the classic Original Series episodes which featured Shatner as Kirk and Nimoy as Spock. I heartily recommend the "Amok Time" episode which gives great insight into Vulcan culture. Of course the events in that show can't take place in this new timeline since it's on Vulcan, but I bet you'll enjoy it. I also recommend "Journey to Babel" which has both of Spock's parents, especially if you enjoyed the interaction between Spock and his parents in the movie.

The Original Series is my favorite. And season one is out on blu-ray.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is considered by most to be the best of the films.
Star Trek: First Contact is considered the best Next Generation film.
Star Trek: The Next Generation is usually considered the best spin-off series. Season One might be a bit off putting, but it starts getting good in season two and then especially in three through five.
Anyhow, there are a million fans and a million different opinions, but I'm sure you can figure out what you like and skip what you don't.
