Finally saw "Star Trek" and loved it, despite some flaws. Then I come back to this board and everyone is being DICs to each other.
It's okay to love the movie, hate the movie, or anything in between.
It's okay to think the new movie is Star Trek, or not Star Trek, or anything in between.
The beauty of the have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too cheat of the movie is that it works both ways. The old stuff still exists. Or not. The old is connected to the new. Or not. The new stuff is an alternate universe. Or not. So you can spin it anyway you want.
But don't be IDIC.
If you loved the movie, don't be IDIC.
If you hated the movie, don't be IDIC.
We finally got a big hit movie, and instead of basking in the glow or just letting it go and moving on, here we are being the same DICs to each other that we have been for forty years. Not cool.
Don't be IDIC.
