In the car, I tend to listen to Jack FM - no DJs (apart from on the morning show) and a nice mix of music without too much from today's charts.
EDIT - I see Daneel upthread listens to the same station (well, owned by the same parent company anyway).

Indeed -- the one I listen to never used to have any DJs, but a couple of years ago they added a morning show... and now they have DJs for all times of the day. I admit, it took me a while to get used to it; part of what I liked about the station was the more music/no DJs format -- which they seemed very proud of in their advertisements. But I'm okay with it now. The DJs' personalities are tolerable, and they don't take up too much airtime -- plus they still play a pretty good selection of music (mostly classic stuff, with a lesser amount of contemporary songs).
I think Nicky Campbell serves that purpose just as well on Five Live.BBC Radio 4: news, comedy and drama all on one station (and, since Eddie Mair took over PM, news and comedy in one programme: it's like the Daily Show if it actually did serious reporting as well).

Nicky Campbell? Didn't Don't Watch That, Watch This, put it all together and prove he was the first sign of Satan's arrival on Earth?
since Eddie Mair took over PM, news and comedy in one programme...
I had a classic "shit, when did I get old moment?" today - pretty young colleague tells me about the song she was listening to on Radio 1. Not only did I have no idea who the artist was, I also mentioned I was listening to Radio 4 at the time and got a pretty classic "Radio FOUR??!! Really??!!" look right back.
Up to then, I think I was managing to seem moderately cool...
I did get revenge a little later by pointing out exactly where she'd need botox soon.![]()
