I have a hard time believing that they would drop Quintos and Pine from a new successful iteration of Trek.
Are you serious about Reeves?!? Do you really think he has any sort of depth as an actor? Really?!?! Did you see 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' and how he butchered that?
But I also have a hard time that someone else should play Kirk and Spock in the future.

The Kirk and Spock characters took years to develop. Paramount and Abrahms are stealing all of that to make a buck...
I would think/hope that given the $$$ at stake and the huge old fan base and the potential new fan base, that Paramount took no chances on who they wound up picking for each of the roles. Meaning. They had to act, they had to bring something of the original character to the table and the actors had to commit to a possible lifetime association with the characters.

Abrams is ten times smarter than the dude that was at the helm of Star Trek in the '90s. One who shall not be named. If there is anyone in Hollywood right now that can make smart, compelling, and fun movies in the future it is Abrams and his Losties.
No person they put up there will look, sound, talk, and walk like Shatner and Nimoy. That's impossible. But the amount of respect and time they put into taking these characters and using the old and making them as much their own shows the care these actors and JJ have put into introducing us to our beloved characters. There is no one else out there that could more be Kirk and Spock than as these two ended up.
Huh? Your initial question was "Who should play Spock and Kirk in the next movie?" I argued that Pine and Quintos did a great job. I don't understand the sarcasm about an award. Also, I did not say that the movie was all about Kirk and Spock. I merely focused on your question. I thought the entire movie was good, cast, story, SFX, set, etc.
But, ehem, I think you need to go back and watch the TOS movies and see who they focus on. KHHHHHHHHAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNN.

Roddenberry created Star Trek to make money. The current owners of Star Trek put out more product to make...money. It's not any more complicated (or noble) than that.Oh please.
Oh I forgot, Since Greed is a Virtue that makes it all alright.
And whether or not Roddenberry had ONLY making money on his mind it became more than that.
That is what Paramount is CASHING in on.
